You might have been born beautiful, but to stay that way you will need to take care of your skin. Healthy skin is a sign of inner health and no makeup can fake that. Special treatments from an esthetician or cosmetologist may make us feel good for a moment; it is our daily skin regimen that really delivers the results. Keep your skin beautiful with skin care tips that will help you in your quest for maintaining healthy skin.

You Are What You Eat

This old adage is true. What you eat is revealed in your skin. Supplement your diet with foods that rich in vitamins, minerals and loads of proteins. Leafy green veggies and fresh fruits deliver antioxidants to the blood stream making skin look better. Do not forget to drink lots of fresh water. Hydration in the body shows on your skin. Cut back on carbs and take vitamins to makeup deficiencies.

Exercise

Build a better you by exercising your body. Exercise builds the elasticity of your skin. Toning your body gives you better skin tone. Follow up workouts with a cool/warm shower. Hot showers are bad for skin and dry skin out quickly. Keep healthy skin clean and moisturized.

Hand and Foot Care

Healthy skin tips should include hand and foot care. The skin around nails can get tough and rough looking. Schedule some personal time once a week to give yourself a treatment. Alternatively, you could visit your local nail shop for a nice foot soak in some emollients to make your skin softer. Keep nails clipped and trim for a better looking you.

Daily Regimen

Daily care is where healthy skin starts. Maintaining healthy skin means cleaning, moisturizing and addressing any issues daily. Wash your face in the morning with a gentle cleanser. Pat your skin dry with a clean towel. Use an oil free hydrating lotion on your face.

Shower up with warm water. Use a scrubbing loofah to scrub your entire body. Shower gels are better for skin than bar soaps. Bar soaps can push fats under your skin and cause bumps later. Rinse well with warm water. Pat your skin dry, then moisturize immediately. Add your lotion to your skin while it is still warm.

Dermatologists

Visit a dermatologist once a year. Your skin doctor will examine your skin microscopically, tell you your skin type and recommend specific care. Prevention is the key to maintaining healthy skin so go to the doctor before you have a real problem.

Healthy skin is always a possibility if you are willing to make the necessary changes.
