Have Summer Ready Skin in No Time

by itchyfish

With warmer days quickly approaching, you want to have glowing and beautiful summer-ready skin. Achieving this look is simple by preparing your skin for the temperature changes accordingly.

One of the best things that you can do to prepare your skin for the summer months is to exfoliate. Exfoliation removes the dead skin from the surface and leaves behind a fresh new layer of skin. Exfoliation is a key step if you want to have glowing skin for the summer. Daily exfoliation will leave skin soft and smooth with a glow that is very desirable for this time of year. Exfoliation is also very important if you plan to apply self tanners at home. These products should only be used after the skin has been properly prepared.

A great choice for an exfoliating scrub is Boots Amazon forest mango and babassu body scrub. It smells amazing and has very small granules for exfoliation so it doesn’t feel too much like sandpaper like some exfoliation products do. It is available for $9.99 per container.

After exfoliation, it is essential that you apply a moisturizer. The exfoliation process removes the dead and rough skin on the surface and leaves you with smooth soft skin that needs to be cared for. Applying a moisturizing lotion or body oil is the next step for summer ready skin. Body oil leaves the skin smooth and soft, but some people do not like the feeling or the sheen it leaves behind. If you choose to use body oil, Pangea Organics has a product called Italian white sage and geranium massage and body oil. This is a great body oil because it absorbs quickly and doesn’t leave skin feeling greasy like many body oils do. A four ounce bottle costs $24.

If you would rather go with a lotion for moisturizing, Bath and Body Works has a wild honeysuckle triple moisture body cream that is sure to do the trick. This cream captures the scent of summer and the bottle and leaves you with soft, smooth skin. An eight ounce tube costs $12.

After you have applied a moisturizing product to protect the new skin, you can move on to your lips. Dry, chapped lips should be left behind in winter months. If your lips are very dry, you can try moistening a soft bristled tooth brush with warm water and gently make circular movements on the lips. Just like the exfoliation for your body that was described above, this trick will have your lips ready for summer in no time. After exfoliation, it is important to apply a moisturizing lip balm or lip gloss to seal in the moisture and give a fresh look to your lips.

The final step in the process for summer ready skin is to apply a sunscreen. This is essential in order to protect your skin for the present, and the future.
