When my local CVS Pharmacy had Haagen – Dazs ice cream on sale a couple of weeks ago, I purchased a container of my favorite flavor of Haagen – Dazs ice cream, their Pineapple Coconut variety. When I first saw this flavor of ice cream a few years ago, I thought that it was sorbet, not ice cream, because of its fruit ingredients. While it may be fruity in nature, this ice cream is smooth, rich and creamy and uniquely – refreshing.
This Haagen – Dazs product is the only variety of pineapple coconut ice cream I have ever seen and I absolutely love it. I am such a fan of this ice cream, that I have decided to write a product review of it. Size
The net weight of the standard – sized container of Haagen – Dazs Pineapple Coconut Ice Cream is 14 ounces. When you first look at a container of this ice cream, it looks like a one pint (16 ounces) container, but like many other products nowadays, Haagen – Dazs has reduced the size of its products. Of course, they are still charging the same retail price that they were for the larger – sized containers, but such is modern life.
The container of Haagen – Dazs Pineapple Coconut Ice cream holds 3.5 1/2 – cup servings of ice cream, as opposed to one pint containers, which hold four 1/2 cup servings.
Price
When I recently purchased the container of Haagen – Dazs Pineapple Coconut Ice Cream, it was on sale. Ordinarily, I do not purchase Haagen – Dazs products, unless they are on sale, because I think that their regular retail price is too high. The sale price that I recently paid for this ice cream was $2.99, ordinarily, the price at CVS Pharmacy for this item is at least $4 per container.
Texture / Consistency
The texture, or consistency of Haagen – Dazs Pineapple Coconut Ice Cream is smooth and creamy, yet accentuated with small pieces of pineapple and coconut. To me, eating this variety of ice cream is a sensual delight. Whenever I eat it, because of its fruity base, I feel like I’m eating a special hybrid ice cream / sorbet product. I think that eating this ice cream provides for a truly decadent and satisfying experience.
Nutritional Facts
Haagen – Dazs Pineapple Coconut Ice Cream contains 230 calories, with 120 calories from fat, per 1/2 cup serving. This ice cream also contains 8 grams of saturated fat, 0 grams trans fat, 13 grams total fat, 80 mg of cholesterol, 40 mg of sodium, 25 grams total carbs, 0 grams of dietary fiber, 23 grams of sugars and 4 grams of protein, per 1/2 cup serving.
Taste / Flavor
It is hard for me to articulate just how much I enjoy the flavor of Haagen – Dazs Pineapple Coconut Ice Cream. As stated above, to me, this variety of ice cream seems like a cross between ice cream and sorbet. Its rich and smooth creaminess is balanced with a refreshing, almost – light flavor that is one – of – a – kind. If you are a fan of pineapple and / or coconut, chances are you will really enjoy this ice cream.

Haagen – Dazs Pineapple Coconut Ice Cream is packaged in a standard – type, round, cardboard ice cream container. The container is easy to open and it re – closes effectively. The rear label of the container also lists all pertinent ingredient and nutritional information.
Overall Rating
I can’t say enough about the flavor, consistency and overall high quality of Haagen – Dazs Pineapple Coconut Ice Cream. Cool and refreshing, this ice cream is a taste treat that is normally in – stock at food retailers across America and is highly recommended by this food writer.
