Psst! Salma Hayek seems to be afraid of snakes. Despite her bold and suggestive snake dance in 1996, dressed in a skimpy bikini with a serpent draped around her neck (to promote the movie From Dusk to Dawn), Salma Hayek is truly terrified of snakes.
During a June 2010 interview, televised on Extra, Salma Hayek came unglued at the sight of a snake. The 43-year-old Mexican beauty and film diva spotted a slithering reptile on the outdoor lakeside terrace set of an interview with Extra‘s Terri Seymour.
The snake scared Salma Hayek and her co-stars Maria Bello and Maya Rudolph, who were participating in the Extra television interview to promote their upcoming film Grown Ups.
Wearing skinny stiletto heels, Salma Hayek climbed atop a chair, screaming at the sight of the snake. Finally, television security staffers carried Salma Hayek off-set to safety.
“It was as big as a python,” recounted Maria Bello after the hiss-terical incident. “Its head was thick big,” she said, gesturing, “like a cobra.”
