So many restaurants, so little time. If you are looking for an awesome lunch spot in Houston, Texas, be sure and check out some of my favorites below. Most of these restaurants are open for dinner as well, so if you can’t make it for lunch, stop by later!
The Rainbow Lodge. Ella Blvd. This Houston, Texas lunch spot is a 100 year old log cabin – how’s that for fun? You can enjoy sandwiches, gumbo and Gulf Coast specialties such as Gulf red snapper and a mixed grill that includes venison and Texas quail. Danton’s Gulfcoast Sea Food Kitchen. Montrose. Within minutes of Houston’s Museum District, Danton’s is the perfect lunch spot if you enjoy dishes from the Gulf Coast. Byrd’s Market Café. Main St. As its name implies, Byrd’s is a restaurant and a market. They serve sandwiches, burgers, meatloaf “bites” and much more. Frenchy’s Chicken. Five locations in Houston. If you are craving something Creole for your lunch, look no further than Frenchy’s Chicken! This Houston, Texas restaurant serves lunch dishes that have their roots in Southern Louisiana, Caribbean, Spanish and many other tempting cuisines. You can select from 10 to 25 chicken piece lunches, as well as sandwiches and sides that include gumbo and potato salad. Access their website here.
Picnic. Bissonnet St. I can’t write about Houston lunch spots without mentioning Picnic. They prepare box lunches for you to pick up and take with you for a picnic lunch anywhere you choose (they do offer a map of great picnic lunch locations, which they will also deliver to.) A picnic box lunch includes a sandwich, fruit salad, chips, cookies, and of course, a pickle. You can have chicken salad, tuna salad, roast beef or other choices for your lunch.
