Godiva Chocolatier chocolates lure chocolate lovers at department stores, the mall and stand alone chocolate shops across the country. It’s also a popular place to shop for Valentine’s Day, Mother’s Day, anniversary and holiday gifts because every woman loves chocolate.
Now Godiva has a line of grocery store chocolates. The packaging depicts the Lady on Horse design which is a trademark of Godiva Chocolatier, Inc. and Godiva Belgium.
Are the Godiva Chocolatier Gems sold at the grocery store fine enough to give as an inexpensive gift for Valentine’s Day, an anniversary, birthday, Mother’s Day, Christmas or other holiday or special occasion?
As a chocolate lover, I decided to purchase Godiva Chocolatier Gems Milk Chocolate truffles at the grocery store for my product review. The Godiva Chocolatier Gems Milk Chocolate truffles came in a 4 ounce package and sold for about $4 at Public Grocery Store.
Here are a few points to know about the Godiva Chocolatier Gems Milk Chocolate truffles before you buy them, especially if you plan to give them as a gift:
No. 1: The Godiva Chocolatier Gems Milk Chocolate truffles I reviewed could be easily given as an inexpensive Valentine’s gift in my opinion due to the gold and pink packaging. Also, many women love “truffles” which have a creamy chocolate filling. Although the fancier truffles sold at the Godiva shops come in a variety of liquor and other flavors, the milk chocolate truffle was decadent enough for a romantic gift for giving on a holiday such as Valentine’s Day.
No. 2: The Godiva Chocolatier Gems Milk Chocolate truffles I reviewed also come in solids and caramels. You can purchase them in milk or dark chocolate. Keep in mind the package colors are different depending on the flavor. I think the purple packaging for the dark chocolate truffles and the gold packaging for the caramels milk chocolate would be idea for Christmas gifts. Any of the packaging including the blue for the solid chocolates would work for an anniversary or birthday gift. It might seem silly, but colors represent different emotions and symbolize different occasions.
No. 3: To ensure the quality of the chocolate, the package says the chocolate should be kept in a cool place at a temperature at or below 65 degrees F or 18 degrees C. So, don’t leave your Godiva Chocolatier Gems Milk Chocolate truffles in the hot car for hours.
No. 4: The Godiva Chocolatier Gems Milk Chocolate truffles I reviewed are individually wrapped which is nice for placing out in a decorative bowl.
No. 5: Godiva Chocolatier Gems Milk Chocolate truffles I reviewed have 200 calories and 13 grams of fat in four pieces, although I don’t think anyone who receives them as a gift will be concentrating too much on the calorie count.
Bottom line, the Godiva Chocolatier Gems Milk Chocolate truffles I reviewed are perfect for an inexpensive Valentine’s Day, Mother’s Day, birthday or anniversary gift. If you pair the Godiva Gems Milk Chocolate truffles with a bouquet of flowers and romantic card, I think you have the perfect inexpensive yet lovely anniversary or Valentine’s Day gift.
The taste of the Godiva Chocolatier Gems Milk Chocolate truffles to me was on the same par as the ones sold in the Godiva stand alone chocolate shops. Each delicious 50 calorie truffle melts in your mouth and would melt any woman’s heart.
Of course, you can also buy the Godiva Chocolatier Gems Milk Chocolate truffles to enjoy yourself on any old day. I enjoyed the truffles so much I might have to do more Godiva chocolate reviews!
