Yes, sports fans its finally here again: the world cup is coming! That means a new World Cup game is coming too. If you love the beautiful game then you will love this FIFA World Cup 2010 video game review.
FIFA World Cup 2010 South Africa was just released for the Xbox 360, Wii, PSP, iPhone, and the PS3 as the official game for the South Africa FIFA World Cup 2010. While there are many soccer games, since this is a World Cup year I think that if you are going to get any soccer video game then FIFA World Cup 2010 South Africa should be the game.
The crazy thing about FIFA World Cup 2010 South Africa is that it features almost 200 teams, in fact it features 199 which is all but 5 members of FIFA. The teams that did not make it were teams that did not participate in the 2010 World Cup Qualifying rounds. All the FIFA World Cup 2010 South Africa venues will be included as well as one venue from each World Cup region.
The downside of this game is it is just a generic soccer game. If you already have a recent soccer game and don’t have much money or don’t like soccer that much, then even I have to admit that this game isn’t for you.
The graphics are amazing but nothing new. The music is new and very international with lots of music from around the world giving a truly international fill to FIFA World Cup 2010 South Africa. I think the music is one thing that separates this game from other soccer games. While we are all really here for the soccer and not the music and the music will probably go unnoticed I still think it is a great addition and deserves to be mentioned. of course you will have online play which is a must these days.
Some differences between FIFA World Cup 2010 South Africa and FIFA 10 is that the altitude will play a role in a teams stamina. Teams used to high elevations will play better then teams that are not used to it. This would be a little much for simple gamers and something I would expect for the hardcore fans but since this is a game that will be for hardcore soccer fans I think that it is actually an added bonus. Some tweaking has been done on penalty kicks and another interesting change from FIFA 10 is that they are reusing the scenario mode from the last World Cup game where you can play scenarios from previous World Cups.
All and all FIFA World Cup 2010 South Africa is a good game if you like soccer games. Being the world’s favorite sport most people will love this game but being in America not so many Americans will be excited unfortunately.
