The Glee season finale is Tuesday, June 8, at 8:59 p.m. The question is if the first Glee season finale can fulfill on the promises that have been teased all season, and if the culmination of every episode up till this point ends up being rewarding for viewers. The Glee season finale will finally have the cast heading to their Regional Tournament, where they will perform in the competition that they have been preparing for in nearly every episode this season. The sectionals episode was fun back at the end of the fall installment of the series, but now we will see if the writers were saving something even better for their fans.
The Tuesday Glee season finale brings an end to just the first season of the show, even though it seems as though the show has been part of the pop culture consciousness for quite some time now. By presenting their debut episode last spring, it has elongated the first season of the show, and really kept Glee on the minds of viewers the entire first year it has been on Fox.
Now, though, there could be a lot riding on the first season finale, and this could spell out how many viewers decide to come back for a second season. Glee definitely has a cult-like following that will stick around for every episode, but more important to Fox and producers are those viewers that are tuning in each week because they are interested in seeing where the show is going.
For those not that familiar with what Glee actually is, it has been Fox’s look at a high school glee club that has been trying to overcome drama in their personal lives through song. Now the first season finale has the kids heading to the Regional sing-off, where they will compete to bring home a Regional singing title to the school. In order to that, they will have to compete against another local school that has the defending champion representing them.
There is also quite a bit of drama between characters that will have to be resolved in the final hour of the show, adding some stress to how this season is going to end. Will it be a happy ending? Or will there be a cliff-hanger at the end of this season that grips viewers through the summer months?
The first Glee season finale airs at 8:59 p.m. on Tuesday night, so make sure to tune into Fox a bit early so that you don’t miss that minute of time starting before the DVR might kick in. It would probably be safer to watch this episode live as well, because there is no telling about whether Glee will finish on time, or run long like it has many times before this season. Glee has already been renewed for the next two years, so viewers needn’t worry about the show going anyplace soon, but a lot could hinge on where writers take the characters at the end of this season.
