1. TMC Saguaro National Park Labor Day Run

Where: Saguaro National Park East at 3693 S. Old Spanish Trail Road, east of S. Camino Seco.

An 8 mile and 5K course loop for any runner – Fast or slow, beginners to advanced. New Balance technical shirts will be given out to the first 1,000 participants. After the race, free massages will be given by the Cortiva Institute and food is courtesy of Sunflower Markets. There will be plenty of ice cold Muscle Milk at the finish line, with Oasis/Culligan water and XOOD energy drink at the finish line and out on the course. There will be fun activities at the site. 2. Saguaro National Park Labor Day Run

Where: Saguaro National Park East at 3693 S. Old Spanish Trail, east of Houghton Road

Admission: Entry fee for the 8 mile race -$30.00. For the 2 mile run/walk – $15.00.
Enjoy this 8 mile race through Saguaro National Park East located at the base of the Rincon Mountains. For those wishing to participate in a shorter route, enjoy the 2 mile walk/run. Strollers are welcome. All participants receive a free t-shirt. At the site there will be games, music and refreshments. There is also a children’s hike and registration is also required.

3. Arizona AFL-CIO Labor Day Picnic

Where: Reid Park at 100 Country Club Road, near 22nd Street

4. DeGrazia’s Rodeo Collection

The complete 1954 Rodeo Collection of 26 oil paintings by Arizona artist Ted DeGrazia are on display. They are based on the annual all-Indian rodeo on the Tohono O’odham reservation west of Tucson. Some of Ted DeGrazia’s other work is on display in the Gallery also. While you are there visit the gift shop too.

5. DeGrazia’s Tucson Story Exhibition

Celebrating Tucson’s birthday this exhibition features the original drawings and watercolors of Tucson artist, Ted DeGrazia, which depict Tucson’s history.

6. Monsoon Magic

9. BA/BFA Photography Thesis Exhibition

Where: The Art Center Design College in the Florence Quater Gallery at 2538 N. Country Club Road, north of E. Grant Road

This thesis exhibition consists of art work by Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Fine Arts Photography students from the Art Center Design College. This exhibition runs until September 17, 2010.

10. BODIES The Exhibition

Admission: $14.00-$22.00. Adult matinee admission from 1:00 P.M.-5:00 P.M. is $15.00. If you ride your bike there you can save 20% off regular admission. City and County employees can save 20% off Adult admission when showing their ID badge.
The worldwide tour exhibit’s the inside of our bodies through authentic, preserved human whole-body specimens. It also includes real organs and partial body specimens. It provides the viewer with a very close look at the skeletal, muscular, respiratory and other systems in the human body and the exhibition encourages healthy lifestyle choices.

11. Monumental Ideas in Miniature books

Where: Union Gallery Student Union Memorial Center, 3rd floor, NE in The University of Arizona at 1303 E. University Drive.

12. The Edge of Vision: Abstraction in Contemporary Photography

13. Tucson’s River of Words 2009 Youth Poetry and Art Traveling Exhibit

15. Who Do You Think We Are? – Tohono Chul Park Staff Profiles

16. Sun Power: A Fun in the Sun Family Event

Where: Tucson Children’s Museum at 200 S. Sixth Avenue, south of E. Congress Street.

17. Monsoon Monday Nights For Children

19. Desert Museum’s 58th Birthday

20. Hot Wings: Indoor Native Butterfly Exhibit

Where: Tucson Botanical Gardens at 2150 N. Alvernon Way, south of E. Grant Road

This is an educational exhibit featuring caterpillars, live butterfly specimens and interactive displays about Southwestern butterfly species. There is also an outdoor butterfly garden to see Arizona’s native butterflies up close.

21. Salsa Latin Dance Class

22. Innovation at the Rhythm Circle

Answer a very wide topic of questions. Play solo, or with a team with no limit to team size. The winning team gets $25.00 in gift certificates to the nearby Brooklyn Pizza Co. Happy hour is all day long on Mondays, so beer and mixed drinks are only $2.00.

24. Saguaro Toastmasters

25. The Loop’s Labor Day Bash
