Home theater projectors, or digital projectors, are the centerpiece of any true home cinema experience. They allow for the true movie experience by projecting an image that is truly larger than life on a variety of surfaces. Many digital projectors are not necessarily designed for video, still home cinemas are popping up in houses across the country as the technology becomes more affordable than a high priced LED TV. Screens are sometimes required, but generally any flat surface will do. However, anyone looking to add 3D capabilities will need to add enough glasses to their theater to pull off the effects properly. Also, while several projectors sport internal speakers, the sound really needs to be pumped up with a proper sound system that is not included with the purchase of the projector. Here is a look at four great digital projectors or home theater projectors:

Mitsubishi 3LCD HD Home Theater Projector
Best Buy or bestbuy.com brings in the grand daddy of projectors with the Misubishi 3LCD HD Home Theater Projector model HC5500 with a retail price of $2499.99. For twenty five hundred dollars the HC5500 sports a powerful zoom and auto focus to get stunningly crisp and clear images from either the HDMI ports or the S video or composite video inputs. This is a top of the line HD projector which features similar size and distance capabilities as other models, however, the next generation 10-bit video processor brings out all the fine details whether the projected image is 25″ or 250″. While the HC5500 from Mitsubishi is a great projector, it is not an entry level unit, mainly due the price tag.
