There may only be a little over a month left of summer but you still have plenty of time to sew a beach bag for yourself. There are several great free beach bag tutorials and patterns available online, here are four of my favorites.
OCD: Obsessive Crafting Disorder – Mesh Beach Bag Tutorial
Kristie who blogs at OCD: Obsessive Crafting Disorder, shares a tutorial on how to make a great beach bag from a mesh material on her blog.
While Kristie used a mesh material for her bag, you can also use canvas material. In addition to the mesh you will also need a fat quarter of quilting fabric, and a small amount of coordinating fabric to make the handles.
Kristie’s tutorial is easy to follow, with great step-by-step directions that are accompanied by photos of each step.

Scratchy Cat Crafter: Oversized Beach Bag
Tina at Scratchy Cat Crafter has designed a tutorial for an oversized beach bag.
The tutorial for the bag is very easy to follow, with step-by-step directions that are written in a conversational style. There are plenty of pictures throughout that help the reader to understand how to complete each step. My favorite part of the tutorial is the fact that it is published in a PDF format that can be downloaded and printed out for easier use.
