If their was one video game that dominated my childhood video gaming experience it would have to be Super Street Fighter II. So when Street Fighter IV came out it was almost like my childhood had been updated for the latest generation console. But it keeps getting better and Super Street Fighter IV is what Super Street Fighter was, the ultimate fighting game.
When Street Fighter IV came out it was pretty huge, certainly the biggest thing to happen to the franchise. Their where some issues which were mostly overlooked because overall it was such a great game, but now Super Street Fighter IV comes along and makes us realize how much better it can be.
So what are some of the new additions to the Super Street Fighter IV game compared to Street Fighter? First you have all players unlocked from the begging. I know their are hardcore gamers who want them locked but for the gaming industry making it easier and more enjoyable for everyone should be more important the joy for a gamer for a fighting game is being so much better then an opponent and winning all the time not in having things others don’t winning should be enough.
Beside having all the players available from the start of the game Super Street Fighter IV also has some new players. Super Street Fighter IV has 8 characters from the old games added including T.Hawk who I missed from Super Street Fighter II, and Dee Jay. They also gave us two new characters for a total of 10 new characters, that is pretty huge in itself. They may also have downloadable players later.
Besides new characters each character now has at least two ultra combos. The only bad thing is that you can only use one combo each fighter which is lame and having it might make the hardcore gamers happy to have another trick in their arsenal since they wont have players on their systems that others don’t.
More additions include more online modes and more multilayer modes. Multiplayer has always been important to fighting games so this is important, and with the modern online play you expect fighting games to be on the forefront since they have always relied on the multiplayer experience.
The crazy thing is that this is a whole standalone game and yet they are making it lower priced then a standalone game. How can you not want to get this game especially with it now being cheaper then the older version? The game is available for Xbox 360 and PS3 sorry you Nintendo fanboys. It is unlikely it will come out on PC but may become an arcade game.
