Life is meant to be enjoyable & abundant. In each moment there are new opportunities for us to learn, grow & change. Simple things we do out of habit can be altered with just a shift in your thinking. Generally our perception stems from our beliefs. Meaning, if you believe something as true, on any given topic, your ability to understand that topic is greatly enhanced. The same applies if you were to believe something as false. Your insight would be to see or sense what is not true about that thought, idea or situation. We are taught many things, some correct & some incorrect. In the 1960’s child rearing & parenting was largely written about discipline, until Dr. Benjamin Spock wrote his famous book about child care.
One of the aspects Dr. Spock wrote about was the formula for healthy, happy children. He wrote that children need to eat, play & then rest. Food is energy (as are we), activity burns the energy & rest restores us. That formula is not only for children. It makes sense. For us to feel great we need to eat, burn the energy & of course, restore ourselves. I see so many people who are unhappy, unhealthy & unaware of this simple little formula.
The best foods to eat are proteins. Protein is found in a lot of foods. Chicken, fish, peanut butter, eggs, cheese and beans are just a few. The quickest way to feel better is to eat more proteins & less carbohydrates. Carbs. are in bread, pasta & potatoes.
Easy stretching everyday is very relaxing & beneficial. It looses your muscles & keeps your energy flowing throughout your body. Since we are actually a mass of energy it’s good to walk, jog, swim, bike or hike to release built up tensions inside of us. As well, it clears your mind, as I’ve mentioned in past articles.
Like everyone on the planet you’ve heard that the human body needs at least 8 hours of sleep a night. The reason for this is to restore all of your functions. In sleep our bodies regain the necessary components to function everyday. Without sleep our bodies would die off. If you are feeling run down mid day, take a nap. Your body is telling you it needs to recharge. It also lets you shut your thoughts down. Think of yourself as a rechargeable energy battery. Eating is fueling yourself to extend energy & then resting or sleeping is recharging yourself again. Having a half an hour to an hour nap if you feel tired or over stressed will truly help.
I hope you do what you can to feel the best you can.
Take care of yourself!
