What is this world coming to these days? Sarah Ferguson, the ex-wife of Prince Andrew, has been accused of selling access to her husband to an undercover reporter who posed as a wealthy business man, and the transaction is caught on tape, according to cnn.com. Did Britain’s Prince Andrew know of this business transaction? Likely not. Of course, he denies knowing about it, but his ex-wife, Sarah Ferguson, provides evidence in one of the meetings that she had with the undercover reporter that he really didn’t know. According to cnn.com, she tells the undercover reporter that Andrew is “whiter than white” when it comes to accepting a penny for anything.
It seems that Sarah Ferguson suggests that her husband acts with complete integrity in all matters, so what happened with her? Did he make a mistake when he married Sarah Ferguson? Well, the divorce between them and her subsequent behavior does provide some insight into this question, but this is between the ex couple, right? So, what about the two royal daughters between the former couple? How will they lift their heads up and face the public after what their mom did? This may be a legal act, but it certainly is a less-than-classy act, so how will the royal princesses face their mother’s newest shenanigan?
Sarah Ferguson does try to perform some damage control. Of course, she does apologize for what she has done. According to cnn.com, she says, “I very deeply regret the situation and the embarrassment caused…” Anyone would expect Sarah Ferguson to apologize because she got caught, right? However, did she mean to get caught? She has quickly offered up the assertion that she has financial problems, so is this her way of telling the world that the royal family has not given her and the girls enough to live on? Maybe and maybe not, but what about the work that she’s been doing on the side? Isn’t she making money from these ventures?
According the huffingtonpost.com, she has complained about her divorce settlement, and she has also experienced some trouble with Hartmoor LLC, the company that was managing her “U.S. career” because the company has collapsed. So, what does this mean for Sarah Ferguson? From the looks of it, the situation spells out a shortage of money, no doubt. Why would Sarah Ferguson not borrow money from Prince Andrew or the royals, though? It certainly would be easier for the royal family to help Sarah Ferguson out financially than it would to have to face such embarrassing issues as the Duchess of York selling access to Prince Andrew, right?
Still, what do the young princesses think about this situation? Likely Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie still love their mother, even after this shenanigan.
