At this point in my progression along the Caldari Industrial Career Advancement arc I have moved my mining equipment over to my new Bantam mining frigate, fitting a second mining laser to double output. Chatting up with Kokseri Velen, my Industrial Career agent, presents me with the mission Making Mountains of Molehills (3 of 10). This mission is a production mission, one that is quite uncommon from the random assortment of non arc related missions. I am presented with a 2 run blueprint of Civilian Afterburner to fully manufacture and provide to the agent. The item will take a total of 3 minutes and 12 seconds each to manufacture and cost 66 Tritanium each with my current skill set. As I need a little more Tritanium for Making Mountains of Molehills (3 of 10) I decide to head back to the asteroid fields to quickly fill up a now much larger cargo hold with veldspar for this production run.
Afterburners are an incredibly useful tool for most frigate pilots in eve, and while the civilian version is considered ineffective compared to the other easily found variants, they fulfill a necessary role in ship assembly. The function of Afterburners is to use your ships capacitor reserves to double the thrust of your ships engines (the better the quality the more thrust with less cap use) making your ship not only faster, but harder to hit as well. Pilots still need to worry about stasis webifiers, as their effectiveness negates much of the afterburners power, which can quickly spell death for many frigate pilots.
Reprocessing a full hold nets me over 7,000 units of Tritanium, more than enough for what I need for Making Mountains of Molehills (3 of 10). I find a free manufacturing slot in the State War Academy, allowing me to stay in station and wait for the item to finish. It’s important to note, one may have to travel to find a free manufacturing slot depending on how busy the local area is. In high population areas it may not be uncommon to have days worth of time until the next job can be processed. Time to do something around the house again for a few minutes while I wait for the Civilian Afterburners to finish producing. A quick cig later the item is ready to deliver, so I hit the button and 2 Civilian Afterburners are deposited into my items storage in station. Completing the mission Making Mountains of Molehills (3 of 10) nets an Expanded Cargohold 1 and 143,000 Isk, a hefty cash reward for my efforts.
