Steven Spielberg can’t be too happy right now. According to one of the most intelligent members of our human species, those alien species out there like ET should be avoided, because they’re probably not so cuddly. In one fell swoop, brainy Brit Professor Stephen Hawking admitted alien lifeforms not only most likely exist, but that it’s best our human race stay far away from them, lest we’re bullied, and our planet’s plentiful natural resources are plundered by the probable predatory non Earth creatures.
Alright. OK. Deep, deep breath. Let’s fully process this information. Stephen Hawking, world renowned astrophysicist, author of A Brief History Of Time, who’s lectured all over the globe on time travel, black holes and more mind bending stuff, and who’s so much of a Star Trek fan, he appeared in Star Trek: The Next Generation, says ET’s are not only likely out there in the cosmos, but we’d better not contact them, or it will be truly bad news for our species and planet Earth.
As Star Trek’s galactic traveler Mr. Sulu (George Takei) might say, “Oh my!!”
Remember, Hawking isn’t some fringe weirdo, or prostituting hack writer spinning tall tales about space baby love children for a supermarket tabloid, nor is he ranting about being abducted by little green men. For decades, Hawking has been viewed by the world’s scientific community as one of the most – if not the most – brilliant human beings since Albert Einstein or Sir Issac Newton. His work involves speculation so intellectually complicated, that it includes the formation of ideas, models and equations, which speak on the fabric of reality like quantum gravity and theoretical cosmology. In short, if this highly scholarly man says aliens likely exist, it can be argued in large measure the debate over its existence may now have officially ended.
For The Discovery Channel, Hawking just completed a documentary called Into The Universe. Here’s what he said about aliens, “We only have to look at ourselves to see how intelligent life might develop into something we wouldn’t want to meet. I imagine they might exist in massive ships, having used up all the resources from their home planet. Such advanced aliens would perhaps become nomads, looking to conquer and colonize whatever planets they can reach,” he said. “If aliens ever visit us, I think the outcome would be much as when Christopher Columbus first landed in America, which didn’t turn out very well for the native Americans.”
There you have it, folks. Aliens visiting our big blue marble won’t be ET or even Starman. They’ll be like the creatures from The Thing, Invasion Of The Body Snatchers, Aliens or Predator. If Hawking is right, let’s hope we have a lot of guys like Will Smith from Independence Day, the heroic Captain Kirk from Star Trek or Arnold Schwarzenegger fighting the ugly thing in Predator.
ET phone home? Nope – ET go home! According to Professor Stephen Hawking, Spielberg’s creation isn’t welcome here!
