The new Arizona law is not as the illegal immigration proponents claim. Among whatever other provisions the law calls for, police officers are not directed to stop people who look illegal. The law instructs officers to ASK anyone with whom they are already dealing their immigration status. It’s like the seat belt law here in Va. It used to be a cop could not stop you ONLY for not wearing a seat belt, but if they pulled ya for any other valid reason and saw one not belted they could ticket you. There is a difference. But it’s not the provisions of the law I want to address.
Look at the news of the last couple days. Who is it having violent protests? It is those in favor of illegal immigration. And they call my peeps violent protesters? Every day if one is paying any attention at all it becomes more clear that the Tea Party objectors are doing all the things they scream the Tea Parties are guilty of. Now that’s clever!
I once before wrote about immigration a very long time ago. My position then is unchanged today – if it is my property I can put up a fence if I wish and no one can stop me from that UNLESS I chose to live in a community with ordinances preventing it, and I would have to have been aware of that BEFORE I signed on the dotted line.
No individual can tell me what I can and cannot do on my property, unless something I am doing is a public hazard. If there are no ordinances against what I want to do, no one can object. Well, they can cry and whine but they can’t do more than that.
I have a two fold position on the whole controversy. First, fences make good neighbors. I am not racist for fencing my yard. Keeps my dogs in, thus not a public hazard (as much a hazard as 2 twenty pound crapping machines can be), and keep trespassers out. Since when has it become immoral for one to want to define their borders and to keep others off their property? I mean it is private property. The Constitution protects my private property rights. Why is it okay for all the rest of the world to enforce their immigration laws, but the US is bad if we do it?
Second, how can any organization argue AGAINST the nation or the state enforcing the laws on the books – forget the new Arizona law – how can anyone argue to enforce immigration laws that have been around for decades be anything untoward?
What does it say about a movement so bereft of honor that they argue it is racist to support immigration law? Every nation on Earth has immigration laws. So only the US is wrong for enforcing them, right? Think about it friends. There is a political movement in this country that thinks THEY get to choose which laws should be obeyed or not depending entirely upon their interpretation.
If the law harms their political desires, the law is racist, unfair, whatever. When Tea Party peeps get together and further Founding principles, there is Big Ed Schultz calling for a return to the Fairness Doctrine to shut us up. Say what? There is the opposition screaming racism at every turn.
We are racist for Tea Parties and demanding the nation adhere to the law of the land – the Constitution. We are racist if we argue to enforce the immigration laws on the books long before this new Arizona law too. We are racist if we disagree with the Obama agenda. Gee, no matter what we do we are just racists I guess. How convenient for them?
Of course the truth is the illegal immigration proponents know if they can get the illegals made into citizens, they will have essentially 11 million new Democrat voters. Does the political opposition have an ounce of Human decency and integrity? They will decry enforcing laws they do not like and scream for new laws that they desire to corral those of us who disagree with them.
Lastly, I have an idea for fighting them. Whenever a person is identified as one favoring ignoring immigration laws on the books, call all your friends. Then go to the persons front yard, bring a lawn chair, and plop down in their yard. Get about 50 folks to show up and camp their yard. I wonder how long before they would emerge from their lair screaming the squatters are “trespassers” and threatening to call the law and have them evicted from their property? What, ya mean it is racist of ME to want to police my property according to law, but if they do it, why it’s all good. Bullshit.
Don’t knuckle under folks. AND FOR THE RECORD, AFTER we fence the border and cease the flood of NEW illegals, I am 100% for a path to citizenship for all NON-FELON illegals here at the moment. Gee, that really proves me a hater, now don’t it? Some of you folks are so lame and transparent to boot. You’re not a third as smart as you think you are, or if you are you sure have a funny way of showing it.
