Elisabeth Hasselbeck-Erin Andrews drama continues to grab headlines in day two. The Elisabeth Hasselbeck-Erin Andrews drama stems from comments that Hasselbeck made on Tuesday’s episode of The View that were very disheartening. Yes, we know this is nothing new from Hasselbeck, who has become known for making comments that just rub people the wrong way. This time, Hasselbeck put Erin Andrews in her sights, commenting specifically on the sexual predator that stalked her for quite some time. Hasselbeck decided to take it one step further, by pretending that she was actually the sexual predator during her segment in order to speak for him. Gross, we know.
The exact quote from Hasselbeck on the show was as follows, “In the past three weeks she’s been wearing next to nothing,” Hasselbeck said. “In light of what happened and as a legal [matter] – and as inexcusable as it was for that horrific guy to go in and try to peep on her in her hotel room. I mean, in some way if I’m him, I’m like, ‘Man! I just could’ve waited 12 weeks and seen this – a little bit less – without the prison time!” What Hasselbeck is speaking about here, is the time that Erin Andrews has spent on Dancing With the Stars, wearing costumes that producers choose for her to wear on the show. Hasselbeck apparently found issue with the amount of skin that Andrews was showing and decided to make jokes about a sexual predator to draw attention to herself on The View.
Yes, what this really boils down to is one reality show contestant poking fun at another reality show contestant, making an issue out of something that Hasselbeck did herself. Maybe Hasselbeck has forgotten that she got her start on the reality show Survivor, wearing almost nothing on a daily basis, and at most wearing a swimsuit on national television for weeks on end. Yes, that’s right, a swim suit that covered far less than what Erin Andrews has been wearing on Dancing With the Stars. The comments from Hasselbeck brought Andrews to tears, and today Hasselbeck decided to apologize for her comments, but only to a certain extent.
This is one of those times where Elisabeth Hasselbeck was entirely in the wrong, and decided to again use her show as a pulpit, but this time to talk about her comments from the previous show. But was the apology really enough? She muddled it, stated that she called Erin Andrews, and never really actually stated the words “I am sorry.” It was a sub-standard apology any way you look at it, and it was obviously just to get some more attention to be paid towards Hasselbeck, and it really didn’t make up for what she did yesterday. Hopefully the apology she says that she made to Erin Andrews in person was much better than this one, because this one seemed quite fake. All we think about walking away from today’s episode of The View, is simply that Hasselbeck is a hypocrite (again) and seems to have only apologized because she was called on it. Any predictions on the next person that Hasselbeck will attack on her show?
