Hey there people, Big Brother is getting good right? We are now at Episode 17 and Rachel is still gone. Brendon who vowed revenge on all of his house mates since they kicked out his lady love, is going like gangbusters in the head of household competition. Even before the competition he verbally warned everyone that they better be ready because he was coming after them. Apparently, people in the house felt that Brendon was a ticking time bomb after Rachel got the boot and were hiding behind Lane to avoid any type of contact with the psycho. Lane reveals in the diary room that he is not a bodyguard and that its just Brendon. Well Lane, not everybody is as beefy as you big guy.
The Brigade is always on top of things and we see that even before Rachel was kicked out of the house, Enzo and Hayden make an arrangement with Brendon that if he wins, neither of them will go up. You see the thing about this game is, no matter how cool you are with your alliance, you eventually have to turn on them because there is not a group of winners in this game. There can only be one person who wins that $500,000 prize. I really wasn’t expecting the Brigade members to turn on each other so soon, but Enzo says it is in an effort to get back the full Brigade because the side alliances were in essence diluting the brand.
So if Brendon wins Hayden and Enzo are okay. And by the looks of it Hayden and Enzo are going to be okay because Brendon is still leading in the Maze Rope HOH competition. Lane is right on his tail. Suddenly, Brendon’s rope gets tangled and Lane has a real chance to win, but instead of taking advantage of that, it looks like he is just watching Brendon. It also looks like everyone else is watching Brendon too instead of competing. Come on people, my goodness do you want to be on the block? Poor Enzo is neck and neck with Kathy, who, you guessed it, is last. Enzo has never been that great of a competitor but he does make some very strategic brainy moves in the game. Like the alliance he made with Brendon, who regains his focus and is the winner of this Head of Household competition. Of course in rare form, Brendon yells “Rachel this one is for you.” I get nauseous as I picture Rachel jumping up and down with her hands flailing over her mouth. I’m sorry, I know it seems like I have a vendetta against Rachel, and actually, I do, but its only because she just really annoyed me. I started out liking her, if you go back and read the earlier recaps from when Monet was still in the house, but slowly this chick began to show her true colors and my admiration for her faded quickly into pure dislike.
Brendon is obviously going to go after Ragan because he feels that he turned on Rachel when she was at her lowest point. Britney is also a target because she stood up to Brendon last week. Matt is also someone who might be a target because he is the one that put Brendon and Rachel up last week. Britney is stressed out and Ragan is also stressed while Matt who is sitting with them is all smiles because he has the Diamond Power of Veto.
Next, it is time to see Brendon’s HOH room and Lane comments that there were pictures of Brendon’s family so he does come from people and was not cloned. As Brendon read the letter from his sister, everyone and I mean everyone, looks like they would rather be anywhere but in that room.
What I thought might be a secret showmance last week is apparently just a playful type of friendship. Several outtakes of Britney and Lane are shown and Britney says he is like a big brother. We see Lane pretty much wrestling and man handling little Britney in a playful manner. Lane says that they are like Raisin Bran. He is the raisins and Britney is the ah, ah, what is that bran or whatever the little cereal is. God Bless Lane and his brain or lack there of. Actually, there are moments when Lane is pretty insightful, the cereal reference, doesn’t happen to be one of them. Who the hell doesn’t know the cereal in Raisin Bran is bran flakes? My goodness, moving on.
Ragan goes to the diary room to check for America’s suggestion on what sabotage to perform this week. If he makes it through this week, he will win the $20,000. The first suggestion is to make like there is a ghost in the house. Ragan doesn’t think anybody has ever died in the house so that doesn’t work. He decides to use the suggestion that there is a secret alliance. Ragan thinks this is a good idea because Annie said there were two people who were lifelong friends and he could just play on everyone’s paranoia again.
The saboteur message is played and everyone in the house starts looking at Britney and Kathy who both swear that they didn’t know anybody in the house beforehand. This makes them look more guilty to some people. Apparently, swearing means nothing in Big Brother land.
Since Brendon was able to choose the have nots for the week, Ragan, Britney and Matt have the pleasure of eating Eggplant and Escargot courtesy of America. That is so wrong. I forgot to vote this time, but it would have been for the Bologna and Bran Muffins. Britney eats eggplant, but Ragan doesn’t eat eggplant or snails. Matt said the snails smell like dirt.
Ragan goes to Brendon and tells him that if the two of them made an alliance, that nobody would expect it because they argued last week. Brendon is looking at him and agreeing but at the same time looks like he isn’t hearing a word Ragan is saying. Matt told Ragan to try to fend for himself this week and not to worry about him. Of course, Ragan has no idea that Matt has the Diamond Veto. Brendon actually calls Britney to talk to him which just shows how big his ego is. Britney tells Brendon she would play for the veto if she does not go up and would do for Brendon what he would do for her the next week by not putting him up. Ragan says that he is probably the only one who would actually honor an alliance with Brendon and really wouldn’t put him up.
In the end, Brendon nominates Ragan and Lane. In my opinion, Ragan is nominated of course because Brendon feels his fair Rachel was betrayed by our secret saboteur and he sees Lane as a competitor, probably because Lane almost won the HOH. Brendon’s ego would have him go after anybody who almost beat him. So, Wednesday, it is on. I hope Ragan can muster up enough strength to win the Power of Veto or else he is going to the jury house and won’t win his $20,000. I don’t think he would have enough votes to beat the Brigade. As always, Happy Watching!
