The 2010 Daytime Emmy Awards will be held in Las Vegas this year and will air on CBS network. Tune in on the 27th of June at 9/8central. See your favorite daytime television stars and see if your favorite show personalities walk away with the trophies.
As an avid Days of our Lives fan, I have followed the many dramatic and sometimes unrealistic story lines of Days. I followed daily to see when and how Nicole was going to switch Mia’s baby for Sami’s. I watched as the love story between E.J., Rafe, and Sami continued to present triangle after triangle. I especially followed the Bo and Hope storyline very closely, as they are America’s sweethearts. Will they get back together, or will he remain happy with Carly? I vote for a long overdue reunion of Bo and Hope. I was glad to see Days with some nominations at this award show.
I also tune in every now and again on All My Children. While they differ from Days, AMC does have some good storylines going. I don’t have as much interest in the characters on AMC as I do Days, but they too have some veteran actors on their show. Who doesn’t like Erica Cane or Tad?
While I hope to see Days walk home with many trophies, there are a lot of good soap operas nominated. And, of course, soaps aren’t the only ones nominated. Talk shows, kids shows, and daytime court room shows are also thrown into the mix.
Nominations are as follows:
Outstanding Drama Series
All My Children (ABC)
The Bold and The Beautiful (CBS)
General Hospital (ABC)
The Young and the Restless (CBS)
I would have liked to have seen Days of our Lives in this category, but know that All My Children seems to be hot these days. I wouldn’t be surprised to see them walk away with the award.
Outstanding Lead Actor
Peter Bergman as Jack Abbott on The Young and the Restless
Doug Davidson as Paul Williams on The Young and the Restless
Jon Lindstrom as Craig Montgomery on As the World Turns
Michael Park as Jack Snyder on As the World Turns
James Scott as E.J. DiMera on Days of Our Lives
I am keeping fingers crossed for James Scott to walk away with the award. I am just glad that he was nominated and hope he can win one for the entire DOOL cast and crew.
Outstanding Lead Actress
Sarah Brown as Claudia Zacchara on General Hospital
Crystal Chappell as Olivia Spencer on Guiding Light
Bobbie Eakes as Krystal Carey on All My Children
Michelle Stafford as Phyllis Newman on The Young and the Restless
Maura West as Carly Tenney on As the World Turns
Again, this will probably be All My Children’s win.
Outstanding Supporting Actress
Beth Chamberlin, as Beth Raines Spaulding in Guiding Light
Julie Pinson as Janet Synder in As The World Turns
Carolyn Hennesy as Diane Miller in General Hospital
Arianne Zucker as Nicole Walker in Days Of Our Lives
Bree Williamson, as Jessica Brennan in One Life To Live
As evil as the Nicole character is, Arianne Zucker did a wonderful job portraying the character everyone loves to hate. Here’s hoping!
Outstanding Supporting Actor
Billy Miller, as Billy Abbott in The Young And The Restless
Bradford Anderson as Damien Spinelli in General Hospital
Jonathan Jackson as Lucky Spencer in General Hospital
Ricky Paull Goldin as Jake Martin in All My Children
Brian Kerwin as Charlie Banks in One Life To Live
Brian Kerwin from One Life to LIve has my vote for this category. Feel strongly he will win.
Outstanding Younger Actress
Christel Khalil as Lily Winters in The Young And The Restless
Marnie Schulenburg as Alison Stewart in As The World Turns
Molly Burnett as Melanie Layton in Days Of Our Lives
Shelley Hennig as Stephanie Johnson in Days Of Our Lives
Julie Berman as Lulu Spencer in General Hospital
Molly Burnett portrays Melanie Layton beautifully and has really shown her talent on Days.
Outstanding Younger Actor
Drew Tyler Bell as Thomas Forrester in The Bold And The Beautiful
Drew Garrett as Michael Corinthos, Jr. in General Hospital
Dylan Patton as Will Horton in Days Of Our Lives
Scott Clifton as Schuyler Joplin in One Life To Live
Zack Conroy as James Spaulding in Guiding Light
Seeing a pattern? Would hope that fellow Days star Dylan Patton would win, but feel the competition is pretty heavy. Every man listed here does a great job. This could be anyone’s award.

Regis Philbin and Kelly Ripa on Live with Regis and Kelly
Rachel Ray on Rachel Ray
Dr. Mehmet Oz on The Dr. Oz Show
