Dancing with the Stars Season 10 premiered on March 22, 2010 with 11 new stars gracing the stage. If you want to keep up with the action, but can’t tune in, keep up with my Live Blog to find out all the important happenings AS they happen! Since this is a blog, there will be some personal opinion thrown in.
– Nicole Scherzinger with Derek Hough – 54/60
– Evan Lysacek with Anna Trebunskaya – 54/60
– Chad Ochocinco with Cheryl Burke – 52/60
– Erin Andrews with Maksim Chmerkovskiy – 51/60
– Pamela Anderson with Damian Whitewood – 51/60
– Niecy Nash with Louis Van Amstel – 49/60
Now on with the Show!
The show started off putting Erin and Max into the bottom two in what many will find as a surprise. Nicole and Derek were declared safe which anyone could have guessed. After the usual recap from last night, the judges choose to see Team Gaga’s routine again. Pamela Anderson apparently had been injured last night and had to have Chelsie fill in for her. I still hate the faces Nicole makes, but with Chelsie in the routine it looked almost like all 6 were pros.
Special Guest band, Train, performed one of their songs while Chelsie, Lacey, Cheryl performed some quick dance steps with three of the male dancers. Tom brought out the male stars to reveal their fate next. Evan and Anna were told they were safe while Chad and Cheryl were told they were in jeopardy. However, they did not tell him if he was definitely in the bottom two. We have to wait a little longer!
My guess is that Pam will conveniently go home since they said earlier that she is now injured. However when they interviewed Pam she stated it was a minor injury and she plans to be practicing again tomorrow and ready for next week. Niecy and Louis were told they are safe meaning Pam and Damien could still be going home tonight.
Melissa Rycroft returned for another video clip “behind the scenes”. She showed all the different jobs people do behind the scenes from the production coordinator to the hair dresser to the stage manager. Melissa should have been the co-host! She is way more entertaining than Brooke Burke. Maybe next year!
Special Guest performers tonight were the Cirque du Soliel sensation “Viva Elvis“. The performance was very fun and lively but unlike anything I’ve ever seen from Cirque du Soliel. I thought they only did crazy tightrope tricks and body contortions, but apparantly the Cirque du Soliel name is also used for dancing. I definitely want to see this show! Looks great! I hope they go on tour soon, but currently they are only in Las Vegas.
Train returned to perform “Drops of Jupiter” which is one of their more famous songs. Louis and Karina performed this time. With Erin, Chad and Pam still in jeopardy, Tom revealed who was safe and who was in the bottom two. We already knew Erin and Max were in the bottom two, joining them would be Pamela and Damien. Chad and Cheryl will be back again next week!
Pamela and Damien were eliminated from Dancing with the Stars, just as I predicted. Erin and Max’s fans will be happy, but will they save her next week?
Monday, May 10th, 2010 @ 8/7c – Down to only 5 couples, can they get some more 10s next week??
