Dance Sensation! is a dance simulation game for Wii. The game was made primarily for younger girls. It has moves and songs in hip-hop, jazz, ballet and Latin music genres.
The Dance Sensation! Video game brings different controls to a dance game. There are options to play pre-made choreography or to choreograph your own moves.
Once the routines have been practiced they are used in recitals. The recitals can be anywhere from local auditoriums and malls to exotic retreats and Broadway stages.
Character customization is another neat option the Dance Sensation! Game has to offer. A dancer can be made to look like the player or have numerous other looks. There are a few to choose from in the beginning, but a lot of the options must be earned through playing the Dance Sensation video game.
The only downside in the customization in the Dance Sensation! video game is that all the characters are female.
There are three multiplayer modes available. It only supports two players, which can become a problem in a house with many children. There are a few different ways for them to interact. They can have a head-to-head battle using pre-made choreography or mimic the other player’s moves. The last multiplayer option in Dance Sensation! is to dance together.
Dance Sensation! Controls
Instead of a mat the dancers onscreen are controlled by the Wii remote and the nunchuk. One drawback to this system is that it cannot accurately make out foot movements. Using Wii Motion Plus can help the Wii pick up the movements a little bit better.
The graphics for the Dance Sensation! video game are pretty decent overall. They can be a little choppy at times, but not enough to really detract from the game.
The Dance Sensation! video game has several songs by popular singers, as well as classical and Latin mixes. Corbin Bleu, Honor Society and Naturi Naughton are a few of the hip-hop artists. Jazz choreography is taught using Demi Lovato and Hillary Duff songs, in addition to various other artists.
Price and Replayability
The Dance Sensation video game is set at around $20. Which is not bad considering the songs and challenges can be played over and over again. After going through the challenges, players can make their own choreography to use and show friends. The multiplayer option can also be fun for sleepovers or other parties.
