A few weeks ago, while shopping at CVS Pharmacy, I noticed for the first time, a display of CVS brand canned Spaghetti & Meatballs. I thought that the can featured an attractive and appealing label and the price of the product was quite reasonable.
I purchased one can of this pasta and recently had the opportunity to eat it. The flavor, texture and overall quality of this item really impressed me. So much so, that I have decided to write a product review of the item. Presented here, in an effort to assist the consumer, is one food writer’s product review of CVS brand canned Spaghetti & Meatballs.
The net weight of the standard – sized can of CVS brand canned Spaghetti & Meatballs is 14.5 ounces. According to the product label, the can contains appoximately two servings. As with many other products, I think that this serving size is under – estimated. When I ate this spaghetti and meatballs, I ate the entire can all at once, meaning that the can supplied me with one serving.
The regular retail price charged for one ounce can of CVS brand canned Spaghetti & Meatballs at Hartford, Connecticut area CVS Pharmacies is approximately $1.29. This price is comparable with other, name brand varieties of canned spaghetti and meatballs and I think that the price is reasonable, when the products’ great flavor, texture, convenience and overall high quality are taken into consideration. Also, I have been seeing this item on sale recently at CVS Pharmacy and the sale price was $.99c.
CVS brand canned Spaghetti & Meatballs features a nice, appealing texture that makes eating the product a pleasureable experience. The spaghetti is not over – cooked, as some brands of canned spaghetti are wont to be and the meatballs are slightly firm, yet chewy. Also, the delightful little meatballs in this item are free of mystery ingredients and / or fat and offer a nice contrast to the spaghetti. All in all, the satisfying texture of CVS brand canned Spaghetti & Meatballs produces a very nice mouth – feel.

Taste / Flavor
I must admit, before I tried the CVS brand canned Spaghetti & Meatballs, I was skeptical of how the product would taste. Through the years, I have eaten many different brands and varieties of canned spaghetti and meatballs and have found most of them to be very similar. From my experience, most varieties of canned spaghetti and meatballs feature over – cooked strands of spaghetti awash in a strangely – colored tomato sauce that does not really taste like normal pasta sauce.
Such is not the case with CVS brand canned Spaghetti & Meatballs. The spaghetti in this product is not over – cooked and it actually offers a sense of bite. The tomato sauce is quite tasty, compared to the other varieties I have previously eaten. The sauce features a nicely – seasoned tomato flavor and the meatballs actually taste like real, beef meatballs. Speaking of meatballs, I counted six of them in the can of this pasta that I recently consumed. Overall, I would have to say that this is one of the tastiest two brands of canned spaghetti and meatballs that I have ever eaten.
CVS brand canned Spaghetti & Meatballs are packaged in a standard – type metal can. The can features a red, black and pink – colored label that includes a nice illustration of the enclosed product accompanied by suspended meatballs on the front label and a listing of all relevant ingredient and nutritional information on the rear label. Also, the can features a handy pull – tab, which makes opening it quite easy.
All things considered, CVS brand canned Spaghetti & Meatballs is a delightful product that tastes surprisingly good. Definitely a step above most other brands of canned spaghetti and meatballs, this item is reasonably – priced and quick and easy to prepare. Available at CVS Pharmacies across America, this product is highly recommended by this food writer.
