The Comedy Works (Albany, NY & Pittsfield, MA)
Indisputably the most well-known comedy club in the area, the Comedy Works typically hosts comedians all year round in Albany, NY at 200 Wolf Rd. Stand-up comedian of all kinds from all across the country and beyond usually stop at The Comedy Works if they’re performing at larger venues in New York City and Boston, so you don’t have to drive to the biggest cities to see the best acts. While Albany is a stone’s throw away from Berkshire County, The Comedy Works also occasionally hosts live performances the city of Pittsfield itself.
The Colonial Theater (Pittsfield, MA)
It’s hard to miss the Colonial Theater at 111 South Street right in the heart of downtown Pittsfield in the center of Berkshire County. Those who saw the construction going into the Colonial a few years ago will know that the efforts have paid off, and the theater is now one of the highlights of a revitalized downtown area. While Berkshire County’s own James Taylor is a frequent performer the Colonial, a variety of musical and comedy acts are the norm. The Crowne Plaza (Pittsfield, MA)
The Crowne Plaza Hotel is just blocks away from the Colonial Theater though you likely won’t have trouble finding it. The Plaza’s tall central building is a defining feature of the Pittsfield skyline and visible from quite a distance. Just across the street from Park Square at 1 West Street, the Crowne Plaza not only hosts a variety of social events, but live comedy performances as well.
