Parents love to protect their children, its in our nature! So when the weather starts to warm up the children head outside and we have to prepare the yard. We need to make sure its safe from any dangers that could occur. So here I have put together a guide to help get you through the child proofing in your yard, without forgetting something!
There is great danger when it comes to water! As we all know. So when it comes to your children’s safety , check all areas of the yard! Small buckets, ponds, swimming pools etc. Empty buckets and put them up. Fence off ponds. Remove ladders from pools, when not in use.
When my husband gets into his yard work, the day goes by and tools can be left out. So a new family rule we made, to make sure for our children’s safety is in mind, that at each end of his yard working day, he needs to stop about fifteen minutes sooner to pick up and put away all tools and yard equipment. Tools can become a very dangerous harm to your children and you want to make sure that does not happen!
When you think yard plans this year, don’t forget plant safety! At your local nursery or on line, look up poisonous plants that could be harmful your kids and pets! Be sure to do this before shopping for your new yard materials. Some of these can be extremely harmful and so you need to make sure you prevent that!
A great way to prevent escapes from your yard , that could end up in injury. Is to make sure your children’s play area is fenced in and the fence is properly put up. No broken boards, loose, nails sticking out, etc. Also, if possible, make your fence, where the gate is, tall and have a good latch.
These chemicals can be a big hazard if left in your child’s reach or sprayed around them. So be sure to lock them up in a high and safe place to protect your child or children! Have the pest control company come on a day your children at their grandparents or a friend house, to be extra safe.
Items Laying Around The Yard
Sometimes we can tend to accumulate certain things in our yards that we don’t think to be a big hazard for our children. Well we need to think again. Old wood pieces, brush piles, car parts, etc. Those things can be places for many dangerous issues for our little ones. It can be places for black widow spiders, rattle snacks, ticks, and more creatures that could harm anyone. So don’t put it off and get out there and remove any of those dangerous items!
All of these can be quick and simple steps to keep all children safe! So be sure to get out there and look for any of these in your yard and protect all who may visit , especially your children!
