A new manufacturing plant for Cleveland, TN?
Word is spreading that there may be a new manufacturing company moving into Cleveland/Bradley County. This one is a Korean auto supply manufacturer. The company placed an add in the classified section of two local papers looking for employees. They say they are looking for workers fluent in Korean or applicants that have automotive manufacturing experience.
The company has not been identified and the address listed in the ad is a post office box. They won’t be able to ‘sneak’ into town, as eventually whoever ‘they’ are will have to talk with local government, the Chamber of Commerce and economic development officials. That will happen when the company thinks they have found a suitable manufacturing site in the Cleveland/Bradley County.

The Country’s Oldest Mailman Retires
We often hear sad stories related to the U.S. Postal Service and its employees. This story will warm your heart. The mail must get through and it did in rural Tennessee. Mancel Prince, 91 years young, has driven over 1.1 million miles delivering mail on his rural route in Tennessee. Friday will be his final day of work and he will finish his last 100 mile route before retiring as the Country’s oldest working mailman. He was in the military for 34 years before joining the U.S. Postal Service. He has earned the million mile safe driving award for 35 years of driving without an accident. Amazing! Thanks from the people of Tennessee and good luck on your retirement!
The Lower Tennessee RiverValley August Weather Prediction
The Channel 3 weatherman told us this morning that our normal high in August is 86 degrees. That will not be the case this August. His bad news is that our average high for August 2010 will be around 95 degrees. We hit 99 yesterday with very high humidity. Very little rainfall is expected for this week. Be careful out there, it’s seriously hot and the dry conditions are favorable for wildfires. Do not toss a cigarette butt out, that’s a fire looking for a place to happen. Drink lots of fluids and check on the elderly.
