Celebrate the nation’s birth by playing colonial games and enjoying other family oriented activities at the museum. Bring a picnic lunch and enjoy free admission.

This fireworks display starts with fun activities and ends with a bang. Bring a non-perishable food item to donate to the Second Harvest Food Drive and qualify to win prizes. Enjoy fun activities until the fireworks show begins at 9:30. Sit in the stadium or throw a blanket on the grass. Food and drinks for sale, but no alcohol allowed.

Bring your bikes, scooters and wagons to the Matthews Town Hall and decorate them with 4th of July items supplied by Matthews Parks & Recreation and Cultural Resource Department. Join the People’s Parade, which starts at Matthews Station Street at 6 pm, followed by games and activities at 6:30. “Too Much Sylvia” takes the stage at 7 pm.
