A couple of nights ago, I decided to try one of Burger King’s Dutch Apple Pies. It had been quite a while since I last ate one of them and every time that I previously did so, I was very pleased with the product. The burgers and fries that I bought along with the apple pie so filled me up, that I saved the pie in the fridge until last night, when I enjoyed it alongside a hot cup of coffee.
I am pleased to say that the Dutch Apple Pie from Burger King is every bit as good as I remember it being, and perhaps even better. This delightful dessert so impressed me, that I have decided to write a product review of it. Presented here, as a service to the consumer at large, is one food writer’s product review of Burger King’s Dutch Apple Pie.
The net weight of the Dutch Apple Pie from Burger King is 3.8 ounces (107 grams). This menu item contains one serving of pie, which seemed like just the right size to me. When I first opened the container that holds the pie, the serving looked small to me, but upon closer examination, I noticed how thick and loaded with apple slices it was. This tasty apple pie was just the right size, not too big and not too small, to adequately satisfy my sweet tooth and appetite.
The price of the Burger King Dutch Apple Pie can’t be beat. As part of Burger King’s Value Menu, the regular price charged for this item is just $1. This is the only serving of apple pie that I’ve ever paid only one dollar for and I think that the price is very reasonable. Even the packaged junk food apple pies that I sometimes buy at local convenience stores cost more than the Burger King Dutch Apple Pie.
The texture of the Dutch Apple Pie from Burger King restaurants is very pleasant and enjoyable. I am actually surprised by how similar the texture of this pie is to homemade apple pie, The crust is tender and flaky, yet it also maintains a nice sense of firmness that adds some bite to the item. The abundance of apples that are in this pie are soft and feature a sweet, but not too sweet coating that successfully accents the apple slices. Atop the crust, there is also a streusel – like coating of sweet crumbs that adds another dimension of flavor to the product. The combination of textures in the crust, topping and filling of this pie contrast well together, creating a very pleasing dessert item.

Taste / Flavor

To me, the flavor of this item is very similar to a very good baked – from – scratch apple pie. All of the components that make up a top – rate apple pie, tasty crust and filling and a pleasant texture, are present in this pie. If you are a real fan of great – tasting apple pie, chances are, you’ll enjoy the flavor of Burger King’s Dutch Apple Pie.
The Dutch Apple Pie that is sold at Burger King restaurants is packaged in a carboard box that is shaped like a slice of pie. The package is attractively – designed and it features handy pull tabs on each side of the container, for easy opening.
