The award winning Scottish brewery BrewDog Beer is known for breaking the rules, and going against convention. They made history earlier this year by producing the world’s strongest beer called Sink the Bismark which contains 41% alcohol. They are in the news again for their newest beer The End of History, with 55% alcohol, taking over the title as the world’s strongest beer. That makes it an astounding 110% proof, stronger than most vodka’s. But that is not the only reason it is causing an uproar, as you can see in detail here. It also is the worlds most expensive beer about $770.00 in US dollars. It is causing a lot of controversy for being packaged in road kill. They only produced 12 bottles, which have already sold out. You can see here each one is packaged either in a squirrel, stoat or hare.
James Watt, the co-founder of BrewDog Beer told MSNBC.com that all the animals were road kill. The twelve bottles of the world’s strongest and most expensive beer is being shipped out to buyers in Canada, Italy, Denmark, United States, Scotland and England. The owners of BrewDog Beer suggest to the buyers to savor the world’s strongest beer like you would a fine whiskey, to pour it into a shot glass and enjoy. This expensive beer is supposed to be a limited run. The brewery wanted a interesting way to package The End of History beer, the final installment in their series of high-alcohol beers.
This well known brewery created in 2007 was started with the desire to make cool, innovative, progressive beers. They have yet to disappoint or follow the normal path other breweries do. They have been appropriately called “The beer with bite.” Using the best natural ingredients they are proud to say they do not use any preservatives, additives or pasteurization. Their beers are now available in 14 countries, and they are Scotland’s largest independent brewery. If you are looking for a little less expensive and not so potent beer Brew Dog also offers nine different, delicious hand crafted beers.
Here you can check out the details on the other beers they offer. They are: Trashy Blonde, 77 Lager, 5 a.m. Saint, Punk IPA, Hardcore IPA, Paradox, Tokyo, Tactical Nuclear Penguin, and the previous title holder of the world’s most expensive beer Sink the Bismark. With their ground breaking, unique beers and unconventional philosophy it is easy to see why BrewDog has received so much publicity. They have been featured in The Sunday Times, The Guardian, The Daily Mail, The Financial Times, The Herald, just to name a few. Their company is all about taking risks, but most of all about making great tasting beer. I am sure we will hear much more about them in the future.
