Bret Michaels’ condition in real life is a bit better now. But Bret Michaels’ Celebrity Apprentice status has always been strong, as he made it to the final few weeks. While his condition went up and down for the last two weeks, he was seen marching through Celebrity Apprentice as a nice distraction from his medical drama. An episode of him getting fired didn’t air in the midst of his illness, to the relief of many. But Bret Michaels’ Celebrity Apprentice condition was almost fatal last night, yet he managed to pull through once again.
With six contestants left, Michaels, Holly Robinson Peete and Cyndi Lauper competed against Sharon Osbourne, Curtis Stone and Maria Kanellis. This time, the teams fought to remodel an apartment, but unlike last week, Michaels’ team Tenacity team lost.
Bret Michaels’ Celebrity Apprentice status was put in danger after he was moved to another team. Thanks to Curtis Stone needing to work better with Sharon Osbourne and Maria Kanellis, they formed Team Rocksolid this week, while Michaels moved to Team Tenacity. The move paid off for Stone, Osbourne and Kanellis, although Michaels had to go to the boardroom.
Fortunately, by now Bret Michaels’ condition has drastically improved. Otherwise, if Celebrity Apprentice aired this while he was fighting for his life, threatening to fire him would seem in poor taste. But the issue was moot, since Cyndi Lauper was ultimately let go. Although Michaels and Lauper had some words at the end, he ultimately made it to the final five.
Since Bret Michaels’ condition was better, Celebrity Apprentice did not have a dedication to him at the end, like in the last two weeks. But he was seen going back inside during the producers’ credits, so that might have served as a last tribute – or just as a dramatic swell to end the episode.
Despite a scare this week, the recovering rock star is still alive in the competition. As such, there’s still speculation that Michaels could make the Celebrity Apprentice finale as a contestant, in spite of his condition. The final episode that he taped before his health problems airs next week – however, three contestants will be fired in that one.
Even if he doesn’t make the final two, hopes are that Bret Michaels’ condition will let him make the Celebrity Apprentice finale as a guest star. The live finale is on May 23, so by then, he could be well enough to make his first public appearance since his brain hemorrhage.
With Michaels still alive, and with three contestants on the chopping block, next week’s next-to-last Celebrity Apprentice is bound to be huge and hyped on Sunday night.
