Some thoughts from last night’s episode:
Just when I think the show Bones is getting a bit too predictable, they have Booth, Brennan and the team face another super-villain. I loved the fact the show continued with the Grave Digger, Heather Taffet and showed, even though she has been arrested, she’s still capable of causing problems. I have a feeling this won’t be the last we see of her.
Of course, I do have to question just how much of a genius she really is considering she went through all the effort to get the evidence against her thrown out only to give Brennan a clue to another victim. I understand she’s arrogant. But, you think she would at least wait until she’s acquitted before starting up again. The fact Brennan and Hodgins would have to drop their own charges in order to appear as expert witnesses was a bit weak considering she had already destroyed their case against her.
I seriously want Angela’s computer.
I’m not a lawyer (though a judge once told me I should consider law school) but, the last time I checked, prosecutors are allowed to ask questions to their witnesses after the defense cross examines them (I believe the proper legal term is redirect examination). So, I’m a bit curious why, after Taffet asked Brennan if she was seeing a psychiatrist and then quickly cut her off, Caroline didn’t take the opportunity to have Brennan explain her visits with Sweets.
Speaking of Sweets, he didn’t seem to have much of a part in this episode. You think he would have been called as an expert witness in some capacity.
So, let me get this straight. I can come within feet of a correctional institution carrying a loaded rifle with the intention of killing someone inside and all I would get is a few days in jail? Sorry Booth, I know Max is Brennan’s dad and everything, but you should be fired for letting him get away with that.
Also, did anyone else notice there were no graduate assistants in this episode? I would think Brennan would want at least one helping her get through the evidence as quickly as possible.
I’m not sure what to think about Brennan starting to have second thoughts about working for the FBI. I kind of understand what the show is trying to do but the end result is kind of predictable. The show is about her. So, at some point, whether it’s the season finale or an episode next season, you know she will ultimately choose to continue to catch murderers.
It would have been better if it was Cam, Hodgins or Angela having doubts because there is a legitimate possibility of those characters being able to leave the Jeffersonian but still appear in a reduced capacity (much like Zack).
