It seems that everywhere women want to change the way their bodies look. With choices of everything from tattoos to gauges to breast enhancement, the options are limitless. Some women believe that with a body modification they will feel better about themselves, and their confidence will be improved. Namely, women think that going into a surgical procedure, they are going to come out feeling and looking perfect. This is not true, women with low self esteem do not benefit from cosmetic surgery.
Although people might argue that a woman gets a new and better image by fixing what they perceive to be wrong with them, this couldn’t be further from the truth. Women who believe that they need surgery to correct something superficially wrong with them need a change from the inside before they’ll feel better about themselves. Surgery can only fix so much, it won’t do everything for a person. Moreover, a woman who felt that something was so totally wrong with her body that she needed surgery, needs a wake up call in her mind before she will ever truly have an improvement in confidence. Surgery won’t fix the self esteem problem, only add to the issue.
Ultimately, to truly have self esteem, a woman needs to feel okay with who she is and what she looks like. Whether or not she likes the way her body looks, she should feel good about herself as a person. More importantly, a woman needs to love herself for more than her body. If a person believes that a certain area of her body must be fixed in order to be happy, then she will truly never be. Additionally, that woman will just find a different problem as soon the first problem is fixed, people can even become addicted to plastic surgery. Self confidence isn’t having confidence only when a person feels perfect, but also when a person is less than perfect.
Finally, the women who are addicted to plastic have very low self esteem think that with each surgery the next will make them happy. After all, fixing the perceived flaw isn’t the answer, only realizing physical flaws shouldn’t keep you from living a happy life. The women who are addicted to plastic surgery don’t realize that they will never be perfect looking. Also, they don’t realize that they don’t need to be. Plastic surgery isn’t the way for them to help themselves with their self esteem problem.
If a woman really wants to help themselves with their self esteem problem, they should go and help somebody else. Nothing could boost their mood better than helping somebody and seeing that they make a difference as a person. This helps them see that they are more than just a body, they have a mind and they matter to people no matter how they look. Having a set of accomplishments is far more gratifying than a list of surgeries that never made anybody feel better about themselves. Volunteer work would do far more for confidence than any surgery ever could.
Ultimately, plastic surgery is final and painful, and it doesn’t benefit women who want a boost in self esteem. It gears them towards paying more attention to looks than things that really matter. Women who want a self esteem change need a change from the inside out, and not from the outside in. Helping others and doing activities that really make a difference in the mood are the ways women will really find a boost of self esteem. Women don’t need plastic surgery, especially if they have low self esteem.
