It seems like everyone has a blog these days. I have two: a public and private one. There are blogs about work, blogs about sports and films and entertainment, blogs about food, family blogs…the list goes on and on. There’s a type of blog that is becoming increasingly popular: the pregnancy blog.
If you’re interested in starting your own pregnancy blog, click here. If you are interested in reading a pregnancy blog, here’s a look at some of the best ones I’ve seen.
His Boys Can Swim
His Boys Can Swim is a really honest blog by a couple (code names Tarzan and Jane). It has followed their life from when they first found out that they were pregnant (oops!) and through the pregnancy. Now that they’re baby is getting bigger, the blog’s about to go full circle as they are currently planning baby #2. This is a good all-round pregnancy and parenting blog. It’s really conversational and honest so you feel like you’re sitting down for a chat with a friend rather than reading about strangers.

A Little Pregnant
A lot of pregnancy blogs are very joyful and very cute. A Little Pregnant can be joyful and cute, but it can also be absolutely heartbreaking. This blog is Julie’s story, and follows through multiple fertility treatments. It follows their hopes and heartbreaks through failed fertility treatments, and through the heartbreak of miscarriages before finally becoming parents. If you read this blog, I recommend starting at the beginning and working up to the present. If you have not had an easy pregnancy journey or have struggled with infertility, this blog can really help you to find a community and support.

Belly Itch is slightly less personal that the previous two blogs. It is written by a mother of three who seems in danger of being a “supermom” (right down to her humble claims to the contrary). Rather than just being the blog/journal of her one family, though, BellyItch is aimed towards pregnant women everywhere. It has a lot of information about baby products, celebrity pregnancies, etc. It’s a fun and informational site, and a good resource for if you’re expecting. This is a pregnancy blog that is like reading a glossy magazine just for pregnant people.

Mama’s Secret Pregnancy Blog
Mama’s Secret Pregnancy Blog actually has three blogs in one following Sarah’s pregnancies. This is a good site because there are three different pregnancy experiences, and it’s easy to navigate to look at particular points in the pregnancies. Mama’s Secret Pregnancy Blog isn’t on-going like the other blogs, so eventually you will run out of things to read, but it is a good site.
