Thursday night on Big Brother 12 it was eviction night- and there was no way it could end well. With showmancers Kristen and Hayden on the block, it looked like Hayden was a shoe-in to stay in the house thanks to his secret bromance, the Brigade alliance. But was Kristen able to convince the other houseguests that she should stay? Who was evicted on the August 5th episode of Big Brother 12? And who is the week 5 Head of Household?
But first, Kristen has a hard time dealing with being on the block against Hayden, although she resolves to fight to stay in the house.
Meanwhile, Britney, Ragan and Matt play dress up in Rachel’s HOH room, trying on her red hair extensions and making fun imitating her. When Rachel walks in, Britney plays it off and Rachel doesn’t seem to realize that they were making fun of her.
Kristen notices how much time Hayden is spending with certain alpha males and concludes that he may have another alliance going on. She uses this ammo when talking to Ragan, saying Hayden sure works out with Lane and Enzo a lot. Ragan chalks it up to a budding friendship.
I’ll give Orphan Annie credit, she’s piecing it together well, but why she doesn’t confront Hayden and ask him flat out if he is part of another alliance is beyond me. Would have loved to have seen if he would come clean to her.
Next up, footage of Kristen’s hometown boyfriend of 2 months, Steve. He is none too pleased with her behavior on the show and pretty much says it’s over. Steve says, “Hayden is a 24 year old kid, I’m a 31 year old man.”
The Live Eviction
During the pre- eviction speeches, Hayden gives the standard spiel of vote who you think will better your game. But Kristen goes on a personal narrative about how morally she played the game. She even says, “I know I’m a stand up person.” Hmm….wonder how Philly Steve feels about that one.
Next up, the votes. With the exception of floater Kathy, all of the houseguests vote to evict Kristen.
When Kristen sits down for her exit interview with Julie Chen, she finds out (from Hayden’s goodbye message) about the Brigade alliance. She is not surprised and also not mad. As for her hometown boyfriend- and Hayden- she tells Chen she needs to take some time for herself. Don’t think she’ll have a choice on that one.
The Head of Household Competition
Chen touts it “The Most Powerful HOH of the Summer”. The winner of this week’s HOH will have a chance to open Pandora’s Box, which will unknowingly unleash the new Saboteur. For some reason America has voted Ragan to be the new Saboteur.
The HOH comp is a dreaded endurance competition called “True Colors” (cue up the Cyndi Lauper). The houseguests spin around on a giant paint can until they fall off one by one. The first person off is the only Have Not for the week (which really stinks for that person).
As the houseguests spin round, they are squirted with paint and smacked with a giant paint brush. Sounds like a blast!
The results of the HOH competition will air Sunday night on Big Brother 12.
