Wednesday night on Big Brother 12 it was time for the Power of Veto competition. With newly outed showmance couple Kristen and Hayden on the block (thanks, Andrew!) tensions were running high as Kristen vowed to seek revenge on Rachel, the current Head of Household. So who won the August 4th POV competition on Big Brother 12?
Bring On the Lover’s Quarrel
First up, Brendan chastises Rachel for putting up Kristen and Hayden and for cockily saying, “Bring it on!” A lovers quarrel ensues, with Rachel saying she needs Brendan on her team, not against her. He calls her a bully. He then tells her he loves her very much and she rolls her eyes. I’m starting to think Brendan has fallen hard and Rachel is using him!
Power of Veto Competition
The POV players are chosen: Rachel, Kristen, Hayden, Britney, Ragan and Enzo. And with all the tension in the house this week, no one is talking to one another. It’s all game face and poker face.
The game is “Wizards of Pinball” (Brendan is the host, thanks to Rachel of course). There’s a giant pinball machine and the players must shoot into a hole. The person with the lowest score in each round is eliminated, but they get a prize. One prize is the Power of Veto. But take heed, anyone eliminated afterwards can take any of the prizes already given out.
Kristen Wins the Power of Veto… For about 5 Minutes
First out is Kristen, who nabs the prize of The Power of Veto.
Next is Ragan, who wins a Veto Ticket (this means he definitely plays in next week’s POV competition).
Enzo wins a 3D flat screen TV.
Rachel wins a Second Chance. That means she takes a prize from someone and they get a second chance back in the game. She takes Ragan’s Veto Ticket and he goes back in the game.
Ragan is out again and he wins $5000. Feeling like it’s blood money and will put a target on his back, he wipes his hands clean of it and gives it to Rachel in exchange for the Veto Ticket. She’s not happy.
Next is Hayden, who wins the Hippie Tard. He trades it for the POV from his girl, Kristen.
Finally, Britney wins the competition. She of course swipes the PV from Hayden, and he gets 24 hours in solitary confinement.
The Aftermath of the POV
Hayden immediately goes into solitary confinement for 24 hours. Not the best place to be when you’re trying to fight to stay in the house. Kristen changes into the Hippie Tard. She looks like a deranged I Love Lucy.
Next is a brief clip of Brigade members Enzo and Lane trying to act like ChillTown (they’re not).
Later, Luxury Competition winners Rachel and the boys (Brendan, Enzo and Hayden) settle in for Movie Night. The movie is Marky Mark’s The Other Guys. Rachel gushes that it’s the best movie she has ever seen. Geez, she must not get out much. No Casablanca? No Gone with the Wind?
In a last ditch effort to save himself, Hayden hatches a plan to talk Britney into using the Veto on him. She actually considers it. He goes to Rachel and Brendan and tries to cook up a deal for him and Kristen to align with them. Rachel pretends to bite, but deep down doesn’t trust Hayden and Kristen.Rachel may be the smartest player in the house. For a while I thought Brendan might carry her, but she seems to be doing fine calling the shots. Seems to insist on it. You can hate her hair, hate her laugh and be put off by her skimpy outfits, but this girl is there to play. Her biggest mistake may have been to get involved in a blatant showmance, but we’ll see how that plays out.
The POV Ceremony
It’s no surprise that Britney comes to her senses and decides not to use the POV to save Hayden. Why would she? But since Hayden still has The Brigade on his side, and since Rachel despises Kristen, it’s almost guaranteed that Kristen will be going home this week.
