Harry Packer Mansion: Hovering over Jim Thorpe on Packer Hill, the Harry Packer Mansion’s gothic façade was the model for Disney World’s Haunted Mansion. Built in 1874 by railroad magnate and Lehigh University founder Asa Packer for his son Harry as a wedding present, the mansion is furnished with period antiques and boasts 15-foot ceilings and marble fireplaces. Guests can stay in the mansion or the adjoining Carriage House, both offering five rooms or suites.
