“Beauty tips you say?! Oh golly geez please lay em on me so I can be gorgeous!”
Every beauty article you will ever read is going to tell you the same old things. Nothing new will scroll across your screen providing you with some new revelation that will lead you barreling towards super model stardom. Get a grip! What I came here to tell you is the 5 things you need to do to feel beautiful, which will in turn hopefully make you appealing to others around you. It couldn’t hurt, right?I’m not going to plug products all throughout this article because what I use may not work for you.
Beauty Tip Numero Uno:
DRINK LOTS OF WATER
This is a scientifically proven fact that will help you in more ways than one. Staying hydrated helps you feel good physically, which will ultimately improve your mood. Improving your mood helps stress levels helps brain function which leads to better decision making. Drinking a glass of water before meals has also been shown to decrease calorie intake. If you are feeling full you are less likely to eat that extra slice of pizza in my opinion! Drinking the recommended ounces per day has also shown to improve skin tone. I don’t know how many interviews I have read where a celebrity was asked their beauty secret and their answer was water. Try to stay away from to much flavored water, which has added sugars and sometime even high-fructose corn syrup. Stick with the good old fashioned straight from the tap water.
Beauty Tip #2
EAT YOUR VEGGIES
It’s amazing how many people still need to be told to follow the food pyramid. It is the most simple concept that if you DON’T follow it I might think you rode the short bus to school today. Even if you do not like vegetables there are ways to increase your intake without chewing on celery all day. Vegetable juices these days taste absolutely yummy and are disguised as fruit juices. Find the right one for you, just watch the sugar and sodium levels. Try a salad once in awhile. Put the burger down….throw some shredded carrots and beets (which I just discovered are really good!) on some lettuce and go to town! Getting veggies in their raw form are the best way to get the vitamins and nutrients you need for basic cell function in your body. This in turn will help you feel better like the water does, which will put a little spark in your step. Confident people are beautiful.
No this is not a “how to lose weight” article. Although it may seem like one, these first three steps are essential to getting your body working properly. If you eat like crap and sit on your ass all day your skin is going to look like crap, your hair is going to mess and you are not going to FEEL beautiful. If you do beautiful things to your body and treat it like it is beautiful then you will come off confident and beautiful to other people around you. Try it! It can’t hurt!
So back to moving your ass, get off the couch and go walk around the block. Don’t tell me you don’t have time or you are too tired. Once you MAKE time for yourself and just DO IT it will make a world of difference.
MOISTURIZE & SPF IT UP!
Lotion and creams are your friend. Bottom line, if you have dry patchy skin, eww gross. Exposing your skin to UV Rays without protection is really dumb as well. Many lotions and make-ups now have sun protection in them, so you don’t have to lather up in Banana Boat every day.
Plump, soft, moisturized skin is beautiful and people are attracted to it, especially your face. Finding the right product might take some time. Try visiting a dermatologist or finding free consultations in your area that can help you decide what kind of skin you have – oily, dry, combination, etc.. and then which products will be right for you. Then stick to a routine and watch the results!
Last but not least:
Take some time for yourself, meditate, pick a hobby or activity that you enjoy. Drinking water and eating right aren’t the only things that will improve your mood. YOU have to improve your mood. Stress form work, kids, family whatever needs to take a backburner every now and then and you need to just be you. Even if it’s only for 10 minutes during your lunch break! Sit, relax, breathe, and reflect.
Being beautiful comes from the inside as much as it does from the outside. Feeling confident within yourself, being creative, accomplishing a hard task at work, solving a problem at home, anything that makes your happy will make you feel beautiful. And people will notice.
Sure these are tips that seem easy but too many people aren’t noticing them as “beauty tips”. Forget spending tons of money on the latest Botox, plastic surgery or diet gimmick. Just go back to the basics of life and you will feel beautiful no matter what. Your soul needs to feel beautiful before you can ever be a hot-mama or stud muffin.
