Silver Dollar City in Branson, Missouri does an excellent job keeping visitors cool during heat advisory. Not only is it one of the shadiest theme parks around, but they are great at making you comfortable. You can tell when visiting Silver Dollar City during the summer that they care about your comfort and health. My family and I recently visited Silver Dollar City during a week of heat advisory. It was very hot, and yet Silver Dollar City was still really enjoyable. Here are some of the ways with Silver Dollar City’s help we were able to beat the heat.
There are plenty of rides at Silver Dollar City to keep you cool. Some of our favorite ones are the water rides. The new River Blast will get you soaked. The River Blast is similar to the pirate ride at Six Flags Chicago but much better. The targets are easier to reach. You can actually spray the people on the side while they try to spray you with water. There are tons of soakers for onlookers to use to blast you. There is even a tree house with soakers at the top. Two other rides to get soaked on is the Lost River of the Ozark and the American Plunge. The Lost River of the Ozark is a raft ride with lots of twists and turns. The American Plunge is a log flume ride with a huge drop that is sure to splash you. Fire in the Hole ride is another ride that will leave you wet but not soaked. So if you need a little cooling off, this is the ride to do it.
If you are one of those guests who doesn’t like to ride, don’t worry you will stay cool too. The park has sprinklers along the walkways to cool you off. A lot of the little kids liked jumping in them. Large fans with misters are placed throughout the park. Many of the rides have ceiling fans in the waiting area. If you asked at a food stand at Silver Dollar City for a cup of ice water, they are happy to give you one.
There are shows that are inside air conditioned buildings. Currently, The Magic of Peter Gossamer is showing. It is a fantastic magic show that will leave you guessing. Another great indoor show at this time is Chris Perondi’s Stunt Dog Experience. These dogs have appeared on many television shows. They really do put on a great and amazing show at Silver Dollar City.
If you are hungry and hot, they are some eateries at Silver Dollar City that are indoors. The Reunion Hall Family Buffet is open for lunch. It offers pizza, salad and other dishes. This is one of my families favorite places to eat at Silver Dollar City. Molly’s Mill Restaurant is also a great place to eat and escape the heat. They offer a variety of southern dishes. The Lucky Silver Mine Restaurant offers indoor eating. They have a great BBQ buffet to enjoy.
So make sure you don’t let the heat stop you from visiting Silver Dollar City in Branson, Missouri.
