Monday night on ABC’s Bachelor Pad, it was time for more mindless fun in the sun as the 17 remaining contestants competed for cold, hard cash-oh yeah, and love. So what happened on episode 2 of Bachelor Pad? And who was sent home this week?
The Competition (and I use that term loosely) Heats Up
A few of the Bachelor Pad contestants realize that there are 2 distinct groups in the house: The Insiders and the Outsiders. Channeling S.E. Hinton. The Insiders- people like Kiptyn, Tenley and Natalie have been on Bachelor reunion trips, have dated each other, etc. Girls like Gwen, Nikki, Krisily and Peyton haven’t been quite so social. Add to their group outcasts like the Weatherman and Craig M. and you’ve got an alliance.
She’s My Cherry Pie
After last week’s Twister competition, it’s no surprise that the Bachelor Pad competitions look to be mostly fluff. This week the comp gets a little rougher, though. Instead of contorting in cheesy positions for Twister, the houseguests must compete in a pie eating contest. For these buff and bronzed babes, that’s the most grueling challenge they could have been given!
The challenge itself is disgusting. There is nothing cute about seeing a former Bachelor contestant puking up pie chunks. I will spare you the gory details, but let’s just say one pretty blonde can’t even make it to the puke bucket and throws up in her hands. In the end, bikini model Gia and Weatherman Jonathan eat the most pie. They get roses and the luxury of a group date.
The Weatherman takes Ashley, Gwen and Peyton on his group date. Gwen, who at the age of 39 is by far the oldest contestant on this show, seems to be getting the royal treatment from the guys. Last week Craig M. gallantly brought her on his group date, too.
During a very unsexy date that involves using their bodies as paint canvases, Weatherman shows us his hairless body in “Speedo: The Sequel”. Either he’s a 12 year old boy or he waxes nightly. And when he’s covered in green paint he looks like a scrawny Shrek. Weatherman talks strategy with Ashley and Peyton, but safely gives Gwen the rose. This makes her safe from elimination again this week.
For her group date, Gia takes Craig, Wes and Jesse Beck. Gia is all about saving Craig this week because she wants this underdog on her team. But Wes pours on the charm – and the lavender oil- during his one on one time with her so for some inexplicable reason she gives Wes the rose on this date, keeping him safe for another week.
Steamy Times Back at the Bachelor Pad
The chemistry between some of the Bachelor Pad contestants heats up this week. “Man Code” Dave Good and Jessie Sulidis have a hot tub hook up, as do the already established couple (at least in her mind), Elizabeth and Jesse Kovacs. Jesse Beck seems to have eyes for Gia after their date and lets down last week’s fling- Natalie- easily to help his game.
The Rose Ceremony
Before the rose ceremony, everyone is talking smack about each other. Jessie S.’s make out session with Dave makes her look like she’s playing all sides. The girls agree to get rid of Insider ringleader, Kiptyn. But Kiptyn grabs Nikki for a final pow wow right before the vote and flips a switch in her Sandra Bullock- looking head.
Host Chris Harrison, looking bizarre in a checkered shirt with a polka dotted tie tries to get all Jeff Probst on us before the vote. He initiates a group chat, causing Tenley to burst into tears and a few tempers to flare.
A quick pan to the contestants- what are they in the circus? Harrison with his mismatched get up that makes him look like Bozo the clown, Wes in a neon green dress shirt and Natalie in a pink tutu. Who dresses these people in the morning?
The cast mates vote by putting a photo of the guy or girl they want voted out in the ballot box. In the end, Jessie Sulidis and Craig M. are voted out . While I feel bad for Jessie S., at least there’s one less Jess in the house. Way too confusing with all the Jessie’s and Jesse’s!
Here is who is left in the Bachelor Pad. Who do you think will go home next week?
