I guess some readers have heard about the Michael Posner controversy. For those not familiar, Posner is an uber-progressive Assistant Secretary of State, and he is representing us in a Human Rights chat with the Chicoms.
Within the confines of said discussion Posner was asked “Did the recently passed Arizona immigration law come up? And if so, did they bring it up? Or did you bring it up?”
Posner replied “We brought it up early and often. It was mentioned in the first session and as a troubling trend in our society, and an indication that we have to deal with issues of discrimination or potential discrimination. And these are issues very much being debated in our own society.” (This is the transcript via Lexis-Nexis)
Alrighty then friends. What to make of that? Posner is not being honest. Somewhere near 70% of Americans agree Arizona should be able to enforce the federal immigration laws, so that is not, as Posner fronts “these are issues very much being debated in our own society.” What blarney. We are not “debating” this – progressives are indeed whining like the 8 year olds they often act to be, but debate would require some reasonable level of disagreement. A 70-30 split ain’t reasonable – it’s a landslide.
The Red Chinese are concerned about how we treat people who are in the US? Let’s review a fact or two:
Tienanmen Square. Forced sterilization. No freedom of movement within China. Papers and government approval to move from one province to another. People NOT allowed to live in cities, but must remain in the countryside to eek out a living at a poverty level. Government censoring media and the Internet. And to these people we need to apologize for a law directing the state to enforce already on the books federal immigration statutes? Gee, do the Chicoms ask us before they enforce their immigration laws?
So Posner VOLUNTEERS this nonsense to the Chicoms? What, to play some progressive touchy-feely game of moral equivalency? What is even remotely equivalent between the way America treats people and how the Chinese treat their own citizens? I’m pretty sure China jails and/or deports illegal immigrants there, don’t they?
Having a “Human Rights” summit with the Red Chinese is like asking Himmler to a summit on Israel. Having a hungry Jeffrey Dahmer over for dinner. Asking Roman Polanski to give your 15 year old daughter a ride home from school.
How much more evidence is needed that progressives hate this nation’s founding and traditions? They hate capitalism and are real clear on that. The Constitution is a hindrance to their social and political desires. Progressives see the vastness of this nation as filled largely with redneck, toothless idiots. Only those in the “enlightened” urban centers and on the coasts have their minds right.
I guess “no honor among thieves” well translates to “no honor among progressives” too! Of course if the reader has been paying attention to my writings it is pretty obvious ideological progressives have more in common with Marxists than they do with their own countrymen. Yeah, likely that is harsh, but there is also a good deal of truth there too.
When the words of progressives are compared with the goals of Marxists, there is a certain convergence that occurs, and in fact a great deal of it. But don’t expect a progressive to admit that. As my last article discussed, these folks seemingly can’t tell a lie from the truth anymore.
How far have we drifted from our Founding and traditions when the people we entrust the nation’s best interests to seemingly have no loyalty to us? I mean Asst. State Secretary Posner’s admitting HE VOLUNTEERED the above passages proves his agenda is not all that well aligned with representing our nation fairly in any international negotiations. He and his fellow ideological progressives are wholly and totally about furthering their agenda, and if largely destroying this nation will see their end reached, it seems some progressives are all for it.
Foul, fetid and festering. Yeah, that pretty fairly sums it up.
