The instructions to the game are simple: Clear all the bubbles from the screen. When players line up three similarly colored bubbles, the bubbles will burst and the score will begin to climb. Game play begins when the player shoots the first bubble (always a green bubble) at a hexagon comprised of bubbles. The player can either make direct shots at the conglomerate of bubbles or use the sides to make bank shots. With each bubble the player shoots, the block of bubbles in the center will rotate around a fulcrum. Depending on how the bubble hits the bubbles in the center, the bubbles will rotate differently. When many bubbles remain in the center, the bubbles will not move very far. As the amount of bubbles remaining dwindles, each bubble the player shoots will make a greater impact on the movement of the bubbles in the center.
If a player shoots a bubble (by clicking the mouse) without bursting any of the bubbles on the screen, one of the gray bubbles at the bottom left of the screen will disappear. The game begins with six gray bubbles at the bottom left of the screen. When all of the gray bubbles disappear from the bottom, an array of bubbles will gravitate to the center from the sides. The player will then receive 5 gray bubbles (chances) to clear the board before more bubbles shoot out from the side. This process will continue with 4, 3, 2, and 1 gray bubbles before resetting to 6 gray bubbles unless the player clears the entire screen first.
Bursting bubbles is always tempting when it is possible, but it is often advantageous to delay the burst in order to set up a better shot that will remove more bubbles from the screen. Players must remember that aligning three or more balls that form a foundation for other bubbles will not only break the foundation but will also cause all of the balls that the foundation held up to disappear from the screen too.
Unlike most other games, Bubble Spinner is equally difficult in the first level as it is in each successive level. Because of the first level’s difficulty, beginning players will likely struggle to surpass it. Even though it may take a week or more of playing to get past the first level, players should not give up because each level after the first multiplies the amount that bursting a bubble is worth. In the first level, bursting a bubble is worth 1 point, in the second, 2, in the third, 3 and so forth. The player’s game ends when any one of the bubbles attached to the center slightly touches a side. After completing a game, you can submit your score to high scores. Although setting a personal high score always feels good, looking at the all time high scores of over 180,000 points will inspire awe and continued addiction
Struggling to defeat the first level can make frustration mount, but the calming music will help to keep players from closing the game window.
