America has voted for their favorites from the second group of 12 of the top 48 talents chosen for the “America’s Got Talent” finals. The 12 contestants in the running to go on to the second round of eliminations are (in alphabetical order): Alice Tan Ridley, Antonio Restivo, AscenDance, Cheer SF, Hannibal Means, Iron Horse, Lil Chris, Michael Grimm, Mona Sampath Dance Company, Ronith, Strong Man, and Wreckless. Read about their live performances at “America’s Got Talent Live in Hollywood, Part 2.”
The Fifth Semi-Finalist on “America’s Got Talent”
The first three talents to be called to the stage were the Mona Sampath Dance Company, AscenDance, and Ronith. Anyone who has been following “America’s Got Talent” knows this is a no-brainer. Ronith doesn’t deserve to belong here at all and the Dance Company has not stepped up their routine to be any better than their auditions. AscenDance, with their unique invention of mixing dancing and exercise on a climbing wall are the fifth semi-finalist voted through.
“Cirque du Soleil’s KA” on “America’s Got Talent”
Now we take a break from the voting results as “Cirque du Soleil’s KA” takes the stage and shows the likes of Kung Fu Heroes, jugglers, and other dance groups just exactly what the “America’s Got Talent” judges are looking for in talent.
The Sixth Semi-Finalist on “America’s Got Talent”
The second trio of talents to be called to the stage was Cheer SF, Iron Horse, and Alice Tan Ridley. Even though I believe Iron Horse to be more entertaining, America disagrees as Alice Tan Ridley tallies up the most votes from these three to go on to the semi-finals.
The Seventh Semi-Finalist on “America’s Got Talent”
The third trio of talents called to the stage was Michael Grimm, Lil Chris, and The Strong Man. Again, a no-brainer. Lil Chris is just not ready or mature enough for a gig as big as a headline show in Vegas. John the Strong Man is not unique enough for the finals. We’ll be seeing Michael Grimm, who has been a fan favorite from his auditions, in the semi-finals.
“Train” on “America’s Got Talent”
Now it’s time to take another break from “America’s Got Talent” as the rock band “Train” takes the stage and performs “Hey, Soul Sister” from their album “Save Me, San Francisco” released last October.
The Eighth Semi-Finalist on “America’s Got Talent”
Okay, now back to the show at hand. The fourth and final trios of talents left to be called onto the stage were Wreckless, Hannibal Means, and Antonio Restivo. The “America’s Got Talent” judges get to pick the winner from this group but first the act with the least amounts of votes gets dismissed and that is Hannibal Means leaving the judges to pick between Antonio and Wreckless. I’m glad I didn’t have to choose because I think they both deserve to go forward. Having voted last in the first round of 12, Howie gets to vote first this time and votes for Antonio. Piers votes second and goes with his heart believing the act with more heart in their performance and wanting this bad is Wreckless leaving Sharon with the decisive vote. Sharon chooses Antonio over Wreckless making Antonio Restivo the eighth semi-finalist on this years “America’s Got Talent.”
