American Idol Season 9 is now down to the final six. It’s pretty easy to determine the order of when each contestant might go home, or is it? We have yet to see a big shocker this season, and American Idol is known for those. Who would surprise you if they went home in the next couple weeks? Here we give you a run down on the remaining contestants and their odds of winning American Idol. See if you agree.
American Idol – Crystal Bowersox
Odds to win: even money
Throughout the American Idol competition, Crystal Bowersox has retained the lead spot in the eyes of viewers as well as odds makers. Her personality is now starting to come through in her performances, making her a stronger competitor as well. Crystal is also gaining ground in the American Idol forums. Each contestant has a forum specifically for their fans. In past seasons, many times the contestant with the most activity in their forum has made it to the American Idol finale. Lee DeWyze and Siobhan Magnus have been neck and neck in the forums, with Siobhan holding on to the lead spot. Crystal is finally making headway in the forums, solidifying her fan base.
American Idol – Lee DeWyze
Odds to win: 3 to 1
In recent weeks, Lee DeWyze has been nailing his performances and gaining ground on Crystal. I still believe Lee will win in the end. To read my 5 Reasons Why Lee Dewyze Will Win American Idol, click here. Two weeks later I still believe each of these points holds true. If Lee continues to turn in solid performances each week, he will be the last one standing.
American Idol Top 10 – Casey James
Odds to win: 5 to 1
When the latest odds came out this week with Casey James in the third position to win American Idol, I was pretty surprised. I actually see Casey going home in the next two weeks. I think Aaron will go home this week, followed by Casey. Casey just hasn’t done anything lately to impress me. Don’t get me wrong, he has a great voice and still deserves to be in the competition, but I think Crystal, Lee, Siobhan and Michael are much better performers. Casey will make it to the top 5 and then we’ll see his swan song.
American Idol – Siobhan Magnus
Odds to win 9 to 1
Siobhan Magnus has been dropping in the eyes of the odds makers and I’m not sure why. Maybe because she’s being out performed by Lee and Crystal, but she still has had strong performances. I believe Siobhan is a worthy competitor on American Idol and I see her as a possible upset to one of the leaders. She has a huge following on the American Idol forums, and those are the fans that tend to vote repeatedly. I see Siobhan making it to the final three. If she turns in a performance that is off the charts that week, she may even make it to the finale.
American Idol – Michael Lynche
Odds to win 16 to 1
Michael survived being eliminated by the judges “save” a couple weeks ago on American Idol and has been able to stay strong in the competition ever since. That near-elimination may have helped to boost his performance level because he’s done quite well the past two weeks.
American Idol – Aaron Kelly
Odds to win: 30 to 10
I think this is the week we will see Aaron Kelly go home. He’s come a long way in his journey on American Idol but at 16 years of age, he still has more to learn about the type of artist he wants to be as well as better performance technique. I do believe he will have a fairly successful career as a singer. He has impressed the teeny-boppers and they will come out in droves to buy his albums.
So here’s how I see American Idol playing out in order of elimination:
Aaron Kelly
Casey James
Michael Lynche
Siobhan Magnus (though I think we might see an upset with Crystal going home)
Crystal Bowersox
Lee DeWyze for the American Idol win
