Tips for American Idol Season 10 Auditioners:
The American Idol website has all of the information you will need regarding the show’s audition process and rules, but here are some of the most important things to know about the American Idol audition process:
You must register and get a wristand and seat ticket before you can audition
At most of the locations, wristbands will be given out beginning 2 days prior to the audition date. Get there early, but forget camping out- it’s not allowed! But you must have a wristband to audition for American Idol Season 10 and if you show up late, you may not get a wristband- or an audition.
Bring Your I.D. and American Idol release form
You have to bring two forms of identification- at least one with a photo- to the audition. You also have to bring a signed release form, available at AmericanIdol.com.
Keep the (really young) kids at home- as well as your posse
While the minimum audition age for American Idol has been lowered to age 15, young kids (under the age of 5) are not allowed to comet o the audition sites at all. And if you’re under age 18 and want to audition, you must bring a parent or guardian with you. Keep in mind you can only bring one friend or family member with you to the audition venue.
Leave the instruments at home
You won’t be able to play your guitar or harmonica during your audition. If you bring an instrument to pass the time while waiting in the looooong audition line, that’s fine- but be prepared to sing a cappella.
Get up early on audition day
You must be at the audition venue by 5:00 am on the day of the auditions. And make sure your wristband is on your wrist- if you take it off or lose it, you’re done!
A wristband does not guarantee you an audition
If too many people show up in an audition city or if time runs out, show producers may hand pick people to audition. So be on your best behavior and look good!
Don’t even think about it!
Leave the alcohol, lawn chairs and tents at home. You can bring stuff like water bottles, blankets and small umbrellas. For the complete list of audition rules and what you can and can not bring to the American Idol Season 10 auditions, go to American Idol.com.
