Having to choose between a physically, “touchable” cure for an ailment.
One prescribed by a doctor and researched, studied and proven to be effective in treating a condition. But what are the side effects of taking prescribed medicines and the treatment of the side effects? Is this a domino and mirrored affect that would be something lifelong and tedious. The only way to find out would be to try an alternative method and see what the results would be. It is basically a do or die decision, and could turn out to be a rewarding experience.
Alternative Medicine is “any healing practice that does not fall within the realm of conventional medicine.” This would include the practice of herbs used as medicine and organic treatments. Along with alternative medicine choices would be chiropractic use for aching bones and muscles.
A long time friend of mine, David has gone to a Chiropractor for 20 years. He swears by their treatment and talks very favorably of his own doctor. “Treatments for muscle aches and sore backs, using manipulation and ice packs help a lot” he states. “I have never tried traditional doctors for my back-ache and muscle soreness” “Neither have I used prescription or non-prescriptive medicines, I tend to all the instructions my Chiropractor gives me and it works wonders!”
From twisted ligaments and aching back pain and muscle tenderness, he sometimes sees the doctor say four times a month, sometimes four times a week, and even four times a year! “It just depends on what kind of work I’m doing and how I use my body position to do this work. By following my doctor’s advice on bending, lifting and turning, I have avoided unnecessary trips to see him!” David states. “I’m not as young as I used to be, but I still have plenty of work to do at my job and around my home.” He has a few acres and is an avid gardener and grows Christmas Trees on his property which takes quite a few laborious hours of work to get them just right for
David’s testimony is a perfect example of a lifelong relationship of gained trust between him and his Chiropractor of choice and the successful treatments he has gained. Although he sees him on an as needed basis, and could be considered not “cured” by common practices, he chooses a non-addictive form of treatment and an all natural process. “I’d rather do a treatment that does not create the situation for me to want more painkillers or muscle-relaxers!”
According to the National University of Health Sciences located in Lombard, Illinois, they have a high success rate. One patient who is a grandmother stated that she had problems and was treated by traditional medicine and had no success. She decided to go to National’s Lombard Clinic for treatment and now has a “100% difference, she can walk without pain!”
