In an obese world that is gaining weight every day, people need to realize what foods are good for them and what foods are good to do without. Below is a list of five of the most healthy foods and five of the most unhealthy foods that can easily be mistaken as healthy foods.

1. Campbell’s Condensed Soups
There is a great amount of salt within Campbell’s condensed soups. They do have low-sodium versions of the soups out now, but I would avoid these as much as possible.
2. Store Bought Pot Pies
Processed pot pies that are bought at the store can be very unhealthy. Not only does this food contain extremely high amounts of calories, but it also has large amounts of fat that are undoubtedly bad for the body.
3. White Bread
White bread bought at the store is basically a bunch of empty calories and carbohydrates.
4. Ramen Noodles
Although cheap and tasty, ramen noodles offer no nutritional value and excess amounts of salt.
5. Saltine Crackers
Saltine crackers are one of the most overlooked unhealthy foods there are. Many times people think that eating saltine crackers and slices of white bread for a meal is a good way to get filled up fast and eat less. This is true but saltine crackers offer no nutritional value and are filled with salt, and as mentioned before store-bought white bread is not a healthy food.

1. Potatoes (Not fried)
A potato out of the garden is one of the healthiest foods you can eat. It is rich is nutrients and makes a delicious side to any meal.
This is no surprise. Salmon has made the cut on practically every healthy food list ever made. It is one of the healthiest foods in the world and has been known to reduce stress, the risk of cancer, and heart disease.
3. Whole Wheat Bread
This is the type of bread you should be buying. White or plain wheat breads do not offer nutritional value but whole-grain wheat bread does. It is the best type of bread you can buy.
4. Nuts (Especially Walnuts)
This is another given when it comes to healthy foods. Nuts are a delicious and nutritious snack to keep around the house. Walnuts have more omega-3 fatty acids than other nuts, which is why I recommend them, but all nuts are healthy.
Garlic has been known to fight disease and lower blood pressure. It can be added to pretty much anything and is a great flavor enhancer.
And for those of you who need an afternoon snack, I recommend dark chocolate. This may come as a complete surprise to some but dark chocolate can actually be a decently healthy snack. I would recommend eating a small portion, which will reduce blood pressure. Don’t get DARK chocolate mixed with MILK chocolate. Milk chocolate is the type that gives chocolate a bad name when it comes to health.
