The Rock Star Game Red Dead Redemption has different outfits. According to a blog on Video Games blogger there are thirteen outfits that you can acquire while playing the game.
The outfits include: The Bandito Outfit, The Bollard Twins Outfit, The Cowboy Outfit, The Deadly Assassin Outfit, The Elegant Suit Outfit, The Gentleman’s Attire Outfit, The Legend of the West Outfit, The Mexican Poncho Outfit, The Rancher Outfit, The Reyes’ Rebels Outfit, The Treasure Hunters Outfit, The U.S. Army Outfit, and The U.S. Marshalls Outfit.
Apparently there is an outfit for every occasion and the trend in video games is options in regards to wardrobe and accessories: i.e. being able to change clothes in The Sims. Red Dead Redemption requires you achieve certain goals in order to obtain access to the various outfits.
Some of the outfits are acquired one piece at a time. Like in the Johnny Cash song about building a car from parts collected over time, these outfits are gathered from doing different tasks. Some are easier to gain than others, but if you want the entire outfit you will need to finish all of the various tasks.
Some of the outfits require you to do something such as pre-order the game from Game Stop. Even with the voucher obtained for the pre-order you still need to achieve several goals in order to claim the outfit.
The first step, for most of the outfits, is to unlock the outfit itself. The second step is to complete the different tasks in order to find the different components.
The Cowboy Outfit is the one that you have when you begin the game. It is the outfit that is the default outfit.
The Bandito Outfit is made up of five different pieces. This outfit has the benefit that Mexican Outlaws and Banditos will consider you on of them when you wear this. As long as you take no aggressive action against them you will have no problem from them while wearing this outfit.
You will need to kill a Bandito to unlock this outfit. Once you unlock it and find the various pieces you will be able to purchase the outfit at the Chuparosa General Store.
The first piece is located in a treasure chest inside a tent on the plateau at Sidewinder Gulch (South of the crossroads). Piece Number two is earned by night watch at Chuprosa.
Piece number three is earned by defeating all of the players at Dice at Casa Madrudga. Piece number four is rewarded for claiming a Bandito bounty alive. The final piece is obtained after defending the Mexican residents from an attack by The Banditos.
The Bollard Twins Outfit is unlocked when you kill a member of the Bollard Twins. There are five pieces to this outfit. After gaining the different pieces you will be able to buy The Bollard Twins Outfit from the tailor in Thieves Landing.
With The Bollard Twins Outfit the Bollard Twins Gang will think you of as one of them unless you take aggressive action against them.
The first piece is located in the warehouse at the Thieves’ Landing town. You will find it on the mission “On Shaky’s Ground” when you rescue Shaky.
The second piece is obtained after completing a night watch at McFarlane’s Ranch. The Third is rewarded after winning the horseshoes mini game at McFarlane’s Ranch.
The Fourth piece is obtained by claiming a Bollard Twins bounty alive. The final piece is found as a result on a random event. You will defend the residents of Hennigen’s Homestead from the Bollard Twins.
The Deadly Assassin Outfit is the pre-order exclusive obtained as a voucher with the pre-order of the game from Game Stop. The benefit of this outfit is increased Deadeye regeneration speed (double).
The first piece is in a treasure chest hidden at Coots Chapel. The second piece is earned by clearing the Twin Rocks hideout of enemies. Piece number three is obtained by capturing or killing Moe Van Barr. Moe Van Marr is an Austin Bounty.
Piece number four is rewarded after winning a duel at Amarillo. You have access to the outfit after completing the “American Appetites” stranger mission.
The Elegant Suit Outfit can be purchased from the tailor at Thieves’ Landing. The benefit of this outfit is that it counts towards 100% game completion.
The Gentleman’s Attire Outfit is found by signing up for the Rock Star Social Club. Membership in the Rock Star Social Club is free. The benefit of this outfit is that you can gamble at higher stakes at the Black Water.
The Legend of the West Outfit is unlocked by completing all of the ambient skill challenges, earning the status of legendary. The benefit of this outfit is increased Deadeye ability.
The Mexican Poncho Outfit is unlocked when you purchase the Safe House in Mexico. The Safe House is a room in Chuprosa. The benefit is that it counts towards the 100% game completion.
The Rancher Outfit is unlocked at the completion of “The Outlaw’s Return” mission. The benefit is that it is one of the things that count towards the 100% game completion.
The Reye’s Rebels Outfit is unlocked by the completion of the “Appointed Time” mission. The first piece of five is found in a chest at the Sepulcro graveyard near the outer wall where you have the option of executing Da Santa.
The third piece is earned after completing the “Poppycock” Stranger’s task. The Fourth is earned by completing the “Love of Opiate” Stranger’s task. The final piece is the reward for being the winner at Five Finger Fillet in the Escalera General Store.
When you wear this outfit you will be treated kindly by the Mexican authorities. The benefit is that the Mexican Law Posse and the Mexican Army will no longer chase you. It also counts towards the 100% game completion.
The Treasure Hunters Outfit is unlocked by killing a member of the Treasure Hunters. You will have to find all of the five pieces before you can purchase the outfit from the tailor in Thieves’ Landing.
The first piece is in a treasure chest inside the abandoned house in Silent Stead: Southwest of Rathskeller Fork. The second piece is obtained by completing the California Stranger task. The third piece is earned when you make a profit while playing Blackjack at Rathskeller.
The fourth piece is received when you claim a Treasure Hunter Bounty alive. The fifth and final piece is rewarded when you complete the Gap-Tooth Breach Hideout mission. You will be able to purchase the outfit from the tailor in Thieves’ landing after you have finished all five of these steps.
The benefit of this outfit is that Treasure Hunters will consider you friendly unless you take aggressive action against them and it counts towards the 100% game completion.
The U.S. Army outfit is unlocked by the completion of the “An Appointed Time” mission. The benefit is that you look like a U.S. Army soldier while wearing it. The downside is that the outfit will not be convincing. It also counts towards the 100% game completion.
The first piece of five is found in a small cabin at the Aurora Basin Lake. Piece number two is rewarded by winning an arm wrestling match in the Pacific Union Railroad Camp. Pieces number three is obtained after eliminating all other players in a poker game at Blackwater.
Piece number four is earned from the Stranger’s Task “Lights, Camera, Action” and the final piece is earned by completing a Night Watch job at Blackwater.
After you finish all of this you will be able to purchase The U.S. Army Outift from the tailor in Blackwater.
The U.S. Marshall Outfit is the final outfit of the thirteen outfits. It is unlocked by completing “The Last Enemy that Shall be Destroyed” mission. You do this by entering all of the gang hideouts in the United States and doing so within a one day period of game time (Twenty-four hours).
The U.S. Marshalls Outfit is one that does not come in several pieces. The only thing you are required to do is to enter all of the hideouts within that one day. The hideouts include: Fort Mercer, Gap-Toot Breach, Pike’s Basin, Twin Rocks, and Tumbleweed.
The benefit of the outfit is that the U.S. Posse and Marshalls will no longer pursue you because they consider you friendly to their cause.
Just a reminder that the Following outfits count towards 100% completion of the game: The Bandito Outfit, The Bollard Twins Outfit, The Elegant Suit Outfit, The Mexican Poncho Outfit, The Rancher Outfit, The Reyes’ Rebels Outfit, The Treasure Hunters Outfit, The U.S. Army Outfit, and the U.S. Marshalls Outfit.
These different outfits will aid you in various aspects of the game. If you are going for the 100% game completion then all of these outfits will be vital for you, but if not then some will be less important.
Different outfits add a layer of realism to games. So, find the outfits and have fun completing the various tasks required in obtaining these outfits.
