A call for human kindness: I want to step away from my normal writings for a moment and talk to you my readers, human to human. This is a bit unprofessional of me but things I see around me are really bothering me and I want to urge you to help become a light in such a dark world.
There is a lot of suffering that goes on in this world. Most of it is unnecessary. Most of the suffering people go through is because there heart is often open and someone invades that space and tears it apart.
I think it is time that people finally look into the eyes of others and truly see what lies within. The truth is the eyes are the windows to the soul. When we as sentient beings feel hurt, tears fill the bottom of our eyes and then fall to the dusty ground.
When we feel happy the lines in our eyes appear and within the irises our eyes light up. When we are angry, our eyes become dark and almost closed off from the world. If someone looks right into our eyes who we do not want to connect with, we will look away with a feeling of vulnerability. We feel exposed, when someone unwanted looks into our eyes. Eye contact really does mean everything.
But, if you see someone suffering: whether you like them or not, look into their eyes and feel their pain for a moment. See the hurt in their eyes and whether they want it or not reach out and help.
There is so much darkness that I see in this big “emerald” city. The lights may appear beautiful, but, the heart of some of the people here are so dark and cold that even the slightest candle would fade into the background never to be lit again.
Have you ever heard the movie pay it forward? A little smile can make the rest of someone’s day. An act of kindness can continue on and touch many people; kindness can even save one person’s life.
As light, and a force for good, we should unite together and erase our selfish behavior. We should ignore those who hurt us and not say a word of unkindness towards them. We should just walk away and try not to blame them or the universe. The reality is some people are not at the same level in their lifetimes as we may be.
Please, just try not to cause suffering to others. If you feel unhappy, then as you walk down the street thank a tree for it providing oxygen for you with a hug. Seriously, hugging a tree helps you put things into perspective.
The purpose in life is for us to be happy so lets end the myth that misery loves company by ending misery. Thank you for listening and may you have a wonderful day.
