School is rolling back around and with that comes lots of Back to School sales that you’ll be able take advantage of. While shopping to survive another year of college, be sure to check out these must have tech gadgets, all college students can’t live without.
In the past owning a laptop or desktop computer was thought as plus, owning a computer is mandatory for today’s college student. Using computers at the college campus’s library simply won’t do. Not having a personal computer for college use could put you at a serious disadvantage this year. Fortunately, computers for college use aren’t that expensive and you’ll be able to find a decent college computer for under $600.
Traditional books are far from obsolete on the college campuses, but eBook readers are becoming a huge factor in college life. eBook readers will help college students avoid the heavy weight of lugging around lots of reference books, allow college students to have access to more books at once, and provides lots of cool functions that aren’t available with traditional books (inbuilt dictionaries, dynamic annotation, etc.). eBook readers aren’t mandatory in college – yet – but, having one this semester will definitely put you at an advantage and with the current low price of eBook readers; owning an eBook reader is a no brainer.
College life is mostly about studying and stretching your brain in every which way, but sometimes it’s good to put the books down and give that big ol’ brain of yours a rest – and to do this, you’ll need an HDTV. An HDTV will allow you to watch your favorite TV shows, movies, and play your favorite video games with the best picture quality possible. How else will you know what’s going on in the world outside the college campus without a television?
After graduating from college, the entire thing will seem like a big blur through time – trust me. You’ll want to capture those awesome college years somehow, and I strongly recommend that you nab a digital camera for this purpose. Owning a digital camera will allow you document your wild (boring) college life, post pictures on popular social networking sites, and will allow your family to take part in your college life while they root for you back home.
Video Game System
Having an HDTV to dumb yourself down is a must, but nothing can dumb a college brain down worse than a video game system. Whether you own an Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, or Nintendo Wii, owning a gaming system will allow you to relieve stress and escape college life for a few hours a week without the cost of hitting the town – cash that you’re likely short of.
College life is active and having a home/dorm phone just won’t due. Between switching classes, study sessions, travelling, and hanging out with college friends, you’ll never be able to keep up with everything and everyone without a cell phone. Even if you end up with a prepaid not-so-fancy cell phone, you’ll need a cell phone to not get lost in big city college life.
While I left the choices of gadgets up to you, one back to school gadget must be named specifically – the Apple iPad. The iPad combines the functions of an eBook reader, web browser, gaming system, MP3 player, portable movie player and more. There are lots of iPad apps made specifically for studying and helping to aid that growing brain of yours. In fact, the iPad is so popular amongst college students that some colleges are giving them away to all students on campus.
