With the increasing amount of options available to consumers, fast food restaurants are trying their hardest to create new menu items, and themes that will win over customers. Some succeed, and create enticing, original menu items. Others fail miserably, and resort to mashing up old standbys or creating items that appeal to the ever increasing American apetite These next five foods are the result of the latter.

Couldn’t the same effect have been achieved by adding a few extra slices of cheese to a normal hamburger? Instead, Friendly’s created this monstrosity that comes in at a whopping 1500 calories. This burger could account for one persons daily caloric requirement, not including the fries and drink.
2. Church’s Chicken Strawberry Shortcake
While this might sound like a delicious treat, diners will be very disappointed if they order one of Churches Chicken’s new strawberry shortcakes. The shortcake in question is actually one of Church’s honey biscuits covered in canned strawberries with whipped cream on top. I guess Church’s should get some kind of credit for discovering a new use for all of those day old biscuits.
3. The Enchirito
The Enchirito is a portmanteau of enchildada and burrito. Taco bell’s attempt at combining two delicious Tex-Mex staples fails epically with the abomination known as The Enchirito. The Enchirito is a burrito sized tortilla stuffed with nothing refried beans. The burrito is then covered in cheese and a disgustingly salty imitation enchilada sauce. While an enchirito only has 380 calories, it has almost 60% of the daily recommended sodium intake.
4. KFC Double Stacker
The KFC Double stacker is the answer to the question: can you have a double chicken burger without buns. The logic behind this strange, greasy snack, is that it would be impossible to fit two pieces of white meat chicken onto a decent sized sandwich. Someoneone should go tell that to just about every other fast food chain in America. 540 calories.
5. Dominoes Bread Bowl Pasta
Now, of all the fast food abominations the bread bowl pasta is the most convenient. Who wouldn’t like to not have to do dishes after they get through eating dinner. However, unlike a light bread stick normally eaten with pasta, the bread bowls are incredibly heavy and bound to leave you sluggish afterwards. Average calories 1300 per bowl.
